Hey Alphawave,

Thanks for the nice little review.

I gotta admit, after all these years, it's still weird hearing someone talks about me in third person. Haha.

Hi E.J... I was wondering what Your travel planes for the '08 convention season are, as I still would love to have a couple of My comics signed by You.

Hey E J su,

I was wondering if you saw "Transformers" yet? What is your opinion of the movie?

Also, I am kind of excited because October 31st is coming soon. It's not just Halloween.

The Youngblood Hardcover by Joe Casey and Rob Liefeld is coming out at the end of the month. Rob liefeld is a good artist sometimes.

I am big fan of Image Comics when it started in the early 1990s. I miss those days.

WildCats, Gen 13, Youngblood, Cyberforce, Wetworks were my favorite comic books from the Image comics founders.

Yeah I saw Transformers. Despite of a few rather questionable plots, I did enjoyed it. I didn't expect any deep, meaningful experience, I expected to see some transforming giant robots beating the hell out of each other, and the film deliveried that aspect.

[ Posted by DimebagD on Sep 26th, 2007 1:03 AM ]...

Yeah, that's what I heard about the BOTCON issue, but I was'nt sure if it was true, well now I know for sure.

I have another question on My way out, are You going to be @ WWTX in november?

As always it's a pleasure buying Your books, keep up the great work.

Sorry, I will most probably not going to WWTX. We just had a baby, going away for a weekend is very unlikely. :)

Hi E.J... I have a question about the IDW Transformers Prelude to Infiltration BOTCON incentive issue. The question is. Are You the artist of the cover? If not, than would You might know Who the cover artist is. You see I'm just not sure is all even though there is a name of the cover artist for the BOTCON issue, and it looks like the sum of the initials matches Yours, if so, is that You full name? Well i don't want to take up to much of Your time, and I really love Your artwork, any help on the matter is appreciated, Thanks, good day.

That cover, I believe, is collection of Habro designer Aaron Archer's design sketches. Wish I could take credit for it. ;P

Hey E J Su.

You know I have mixed feeling a about the new live-action Transformers movie! I do want to see new live-action Transformers movie even if I won't like it.

One thing I am sure I am happy about this movie, I am glad Peter Cullen is coming back as Optimus Prime! That I am sure of.

I am not sure if I am going to like Hugo Weaving as Megatron. Michael Bay will probably introduce us to a new Megatron that the fans are not use to.

Kirby

[ Posted by rodimusconvoy on Mar 25th, 2007 11:59 AM ]...

Hey E J Su,

Can you believe it?! The cast Hugo Weaving as the voice of the live-action movie Megatron!

I guess this makes sense because the live-action movie Megatron looks nothing like the animated G1 Megatron we remember from the 1980s.

Fank Welker did not get the part which means his voice must have aged in the last 20 years since the original series.

What do you think about this? Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving as Optimus Prime and Megatron? and Welker is out!

With the new Megatron design, I can't really picture him talking in human voice.

Hey E J Su!

In my perspective, I think Marvel Comics is using the Death of Captain America/Civil War storyline as a way to get people to buy more comics.

after hype of the death of Superman storyline, DC comics revived Superman and now the Superman #75 comics are not worth much money now as they were then.

When Cap comes back, the comic book Captain America#25, won't be worth much money in 25 years.

I think the Cap will come back also and Cap #25 will reduce in value in the future.

Too many comic book character died and came back that death means so little nowaday.

[ Posted by rodimusconvoy on Mar 8th, 2007 10:29 PM ]...

Hi E J Su!

Can you believe all the publicity about Captain America #25! I can't believe Captain America dies in a courthouse!

Joe Quesada is taking a big risk on this storyline. Why would do he something like this?

They are imitating the death of Superman storyline from 1993.

Hey E J Su,

That's fine. I saw your website. It's very good. I know your now working on Transformers: Escalation for IDW publishing.

I am sure you will do good for this mini-series. I will wait for the Trade paperback to be released at Amazon.com.

Anyway, It must be an honor to work with UK Transformers comic writer, Simon Furman! I mean he written some great stories for the Marvel UK, Marvel US, DreamWave, and Now IDW publishing.

Is Simon Furman a great guy to work with?

after Escalation, What is Transformers: Devastation going to be about?

Simon is great to work with, I think he takes TF to a different level with this new IDW story line.
I really don't know enough about Devastating to be honest. Eventhough I am getting the story ahead of the public, but I am waiting for things to unfold just like rest of the fandom.

Hey E J Su,

Yes, I am very excited about the New Avengers/Transformers mini-series from IDW publishing and Marvel comics!

I know Tyler Kirkham is the artist for this mini-series.

Is there any chance you will doing some artwork like covers or pin-ups for this series? I like your work on Transformers: Infiltration.

I hope you will draw something?

Thanks Kirby,

Unfortunately, I doubt that I will be asked to do anything for the series. I would've love to tackle a pin-up or something, I don't think it will happen though.

Thanks For The add, what an honor! I would like to ask a question? Which Con are You going to be making an appearance at this year? Thanks for the wicked art on Infiltration and escalation, keep it coming.

Hi E J Su!

Yes, I agree! I think the Live-action Transformers movie is really for the Young Transfans in the 21st Century! This knowledge makes me feel old? How do you feel about this?

Did you hear about the Transformers/Cross-over from Marvel comics and IDW publishing! I am very excited about these comics!

Plus Chris Ryall said the Avengers are going to meet the G1 infiltration-era Transformers and not the live-action movie characters!

I am happy to G1 Optimus Prime and Captain America team-up!

Kirby,

I think it's a good idea to target younger crowd, it's a good business practice considering what Hasbro's products are. I don't feel bad about it personally. I know I will always be a kid at heart. :)

Avengers cross-over should be interesting, I can't wait to see it.

[ Posted by rodimusconvoy on Feb 24th, 2007 9:52 AM ]...

Hi E J Su!

Yes, I agree with what your saying. However, I am very upset when I found out that the movie is not really based on Transformers: Generation 1! They claim the movie is roughly based on Generation 1 but I disagree.

If you looked a Live-action Movie Megatron, He looks hideous and ugly! He is nothing like the Megatron we remember.

The Live-action Movie Optimus Prime does resemble The Generation 1 and Generation 2 Optimus Prime. But I heard he will have a mouth piece.

Does this make any sense? the movie might suck because the Transformers characters look too gross, hideous, ugly and strange.

Ratchet looks nothing like The Ratchet I remember from G1!

I agree that the character definitely doesn't look anything like the old days, frankly, I was expecting something close to the alternator lines. That being said, I don't think the movie was made for older fans. I know for certain that recent TF toys and cartoons didn't preform up to expectation. A change is inevitable.

Amazingly enough, I showed my 5-years-old nephews of the movie designs, without knowing, they recognized both Prime and Meg, so I think they at least grabbed the younger generations.

Hey E J Su,

What is your opinion on the Live-Action Transformers movie coming out on July 4th?

Do agree that this film should be made?

What is your opinion of Director Michael Bay?

I admit that I do want to see live action giant robots, but I felt Transformers works better as animation. However, the design direction of this movie, I think, gave the TFs a realistic ground, the Transformers that we remembered wouldn't have work quite as well in live action I believe.
Let's face it, this film is trying to capture new audiences, and I think it does a good job of it. I am not as concerned with design and SFX as I am with the story.
Michael Bay's films are hit or miss for me, but most of his film has good deal of eye candy and action. I won't be expecting something deep and meaningful. I think he will do a decent job at least at the action department.
I am taking a "wait-and-see" attitube. I won't condemn or praise it before I have seen the film. One thing I know for sure, I am going in to just see the giant robots in action, anything else done well will be icing on the cake.
