| Header: | Armenian Genocide Rememberance Day | ||
| Bulletin: | Hi there everybody. I've sat here looking at my email inbox for a few minutes trying to think of the best way to say this... If you know anything about the comic I'm working on, my hope is that you know what it's about. It is, in a small way, about Armenians and the lives lived in the US in post 9/11. In a greater spectrum it is about all middle easterners in the US after 9/11, but even more so it's about a man having a shitty day and being mistaken for something that he is not. Back to the Armenians though. I got this email from a friend of mine today and I think it says things better than I can, because she is much smarter than I am. ------------- Hello all, It's that time of year. The US remains one of the few Western countries to not recognize the Armenian Genocide. This website is trying to get 1,500,000 (the estimated number of victims) signatures to accomplish this. Please help out if you feel inclined. Every news development from Darfur is painfully reminiscent of the events I read about in my research of the Armenian Genocide. I hope as citizens of the world, we find some way to end this free-range slaughter. All else aside, this is a time of remembrance and prayer for those who perished. May their memory work to prevent future suffering. Thanks, Nataliya --------- Anyway, that's it. |
