In the confused state that I get into when I work odd hours...the days go by quickly, but I'm never sure when one starts and the other ends. This can't be good for me. I hope the finished product is worth this.

It's gone! My moustache! It must have fallen off in my sleep! I'm as frightened by this as you all must be. Terrible. Truly terrible.
Updated: 1/04/07
Due to circumstances beyond foresight, beyond my control, I am now growing a moustache. It will be available for viewing during Megacon 2007, where it will be a featured guest.
Updated: 12/31/06
Is today the last day of 2006? Thank god, because 2007 is when everyone comes together in the common love of me. I can tolerate one more day of abject hatred. What's one more day?
I just invited a fellow with the member name "chickenstrips" to be my friend, and he accepted. It's a strange little ritual, because he's my little brother Noah Van Sciver, 22, and I assumed he was already my friend. He's also an artist, but much more unusual than me. Please send him Friend requests and check out his work.
My wife has decided that "raw feeding" our dog is the wave of the future, and she's joined this little webcircle where people talk about how fantastic their dog's excrement has become since they started feeding them raw meat. If this isn't a cult, I don't know what is. Some of them send worried little emails, "My dog's stool is too loose! Help!", and then several other "rawfeeders" send back reassuring replies, "It's okay, your dog is probably just nervous at being handed a raw sheep leg for the first time! He'll get the hang of it, and so will his colon!"
Anyhow, the other part of this arrangement is that people help eachother out with free meat, and this lady near us traps nuisance wild boar (WE HAVE WILD BOAR IN ORLANDO?!!!) on her farm, and chops it up for the consumption of dogs. She's got plenty, and would like to share. So off Sharis goes, to bring home a car load of dead pig for my dog on New Years. I hope my dog's stool remains firm.
Working on Sinestro Corps #1, even through this joyous Holiday.
Love, Ethan ...................................................................... Look, I'll be frank with you. According to Al Gore, this planet is going to crash into the moon, but not before it freezes over and then catches on fire. This could happen to YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. It will.
Luckily, I belong to a Secret Society of Elitists not unlike the Freemasons. We get Illumi-naughty, we're sick bastards. You suspected it once but someone laughed and told you that you were paranoid. But you were RIGHT. We're building a spaceship RIGHT NOW, right under the noses of these concerned environmentalists, these mousy little paper-saving pigeon-men with lots of questions but NO ANSWERS. We have ANSWERS, we have PLANS.
The Spaceship seats 1000, and we're going to Venus, which is perfectly inhabitable and full of beautiful virginal women. They have blue skin, sorry to say, but hopefully the Sci Fi channel has opened your mind.
We are NOT A CULT. This is not Scientology. People who tell you it is are only soon-to-be-relics of a doomed planet, and they are jealous. We don't want your money, we just want your FRIENDSHIP. Join below. Say bye-bye to everything you used to love, and hello to the only thing you will truly love from here on out:
Me.

The Wraith #1 available to buy from new printer
The Wraith #1, the 44-page extravaganza comic book, which first premiered back in April this year, is newly available from our new printer, and the vast improvement in quality is there for all to see. Here's the promotional blurb for the issue. I urge everyone here interested in fine, independent comics, to give this one a go.

yeah, it totally is. there is also a musician named 'ethan daniel davidson' so apparently the ethan daniel combination is a good one. I like it anyway. You should call all your past publishers and make them insert the daniel in your credtis. you know...represent. |

Hey Ethan, Hope you had a great MegaCon, it was kind of slow for me but picked up a little on Sunday. Talked with Spencer Nodell showed him my Alan Scott sketch that I did in memory of his father, liked it a lot-will post it as soon as it's finished. By all means if you can spare the time visit my site at; www.surfaceartstudios.com look around let me know what you think, currently working on some small independents but would love to someday work for one of the "big boys"(DC,Marvel etc.) Maybe you can suggest a course of action or a particular name I should address... thanks again man, hope to see you again soon, Shawn Surface SURFACE ART STUDIOS. |

Yes I would also would like to see some Vertigo stuff. Only if it's on covers, that would satisfy me, like Bolland did with the Invisibles. |

hey ethan, ever thought about doing some Vertigo work à la Chris Weston? Your über-realistic style would seem to fit a psychedelic writing state-of-mind that only Brits can give you ...

I love Chris Weston.
I'd do some Vertigo books if I was independently wealthy. They don't really pay as well as as superhero books. That's life.

First of all...thanks for the add. Secondly...(lol) I know what you mean about the "raw meat" craze. It really is sweeping the animal community. I feed my kitten raw meat and at first..well...let's just say that I spent a small fortune on air sanitizer. But now...her colon has adjusted and everything looks normal. She looks healthier as well. Thanks again for the add....oh yes...love your work. |

Thanks for the kudos about working in a mall. To be fair, I must share those kudos with the folks at Spencers Gifts and Hot Dog on a Stick, who also are among those who make due, working in large crowds.
Nowadays I'm more of a hermit, and prefer the solitude of my tiny studio. Probably a lot like you. |

On the one hand, I'm an environmentalist. On the other, I'd dig blue-skinned virginal Venusian women.
So, sign me up.
In the spirit of compromise, therefore, I propose listing them as endangered and accessible only to us- ...er, approved scientists. And the planet as, uh, endangered habitat. Yeah. |

You really like Beetle Bailey? I mean, I don't DISlike that strip, but if you asked me, "Ethan, do you like Beetle Bailey" I'd have to say "Naw. Not really, man."
PEANUTS is where it's at. Are you getting those big hardcover collections that Fantagraphics is publishing? Beautiful stuff. |

Well.....I used to read a bunch of those strips as comics when I was a kid... Harvey books were a nice break from the Marvels & DC's of the time...... Spooky & Hot Stuff were pretty cool. |

Maybe they're just dicks who don't recognize greatness among them. Or maybe you're right, you're just a kind of low-key fellow. I'll bet it's a mixture of both. |
