What is a comic gallery?
A comic gallery is simply a group of related artwork. It can be a web comic series, a portfolio, a print comic preview, or anything else you can think of. Unless you're thinking of things that are illegal or morally objectionable.
How do I create a comic gallery?
Login to your main ComicSpace page and click on "Add a New Comic Gallery".
What am I allowed to upload to my gallery?
You can upload your original comic pages and artwork. Please do not under any circumstances upload X-rated/pornographic or hateful/racist images, or images that infringe on the copyrights of others.
There are two types of galleries:
Public galleries are accessible by everyone. These galleries may NOT contain images/content that is unsuitable for users under the age of 18. Intense violence, excessive gore, sexual content, nudity and strong language should NOT be present in public galleries.
- If you can apply the movie rating of "R" to your work, it SHOULD NOT be in a public gallery.
- If you can apply the video game rating of "M" to your work, it SHOULD NOT be in a public gallery.

Adult-content galleries are accessible only by adults (18 or older) who are logged in. These galleries MAY contain images/content that is unsuitable for users under the age of 18. Intense violence, excessive gore, sexual content, nudity and strong language MAY be present in mature-content galleries. However, X-rated/pornographic or hateful/racist images are absolutely prohibited.
- If you can apply the movie rating of "R" to your work, it SHOULD be in a mature-content gallery.
- If you can apply the video game rating of "M" to your work, it SHOULD be in a mature-content gallery.
To create an mature-content gallery, see How do I create a comic gallery above, and check the box labeled "This gallery will contain adult-only content" at the bottom of the form. Don't see the checkbox?... You either haven't entered your date of birth, or you're under 18 (according to the date of birth you entered into your profile). Click on "Manage Profile" on your main ComicSpace page to update your DOB.

How do I convert my public gallery to an mature-content gallery? (or vice versa)
Log into your main ComicSpace page and click on "Manage Comic Galleries", then on "Edit Gallery Info" for the gallery in question. Finally, check the box at the bottom of the form labeled "This gallery will contain adult-only content".
Can I add YouTube videos to my gallery?
Yes. Go to your gallery and click on "Add YouTube Vid". Please keep in mind that you should only add videos that are comics-related and that you are in some way associated with.
How do I find the video ID for my YouTube video?
The video ID can be found directly after the v parameter in the video's url. For example, in the URL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGNQyelJ5Ac, the portion in red is the video ID.
What do the [

] icons mean?
These icons stand for YouTube video content.
- [
] at the end of a gallery title means that the gallery contains ALL YouTube videos.
- [
] at the end of a gallery title means that the gallery contains SOME YouTube videos (at least one).
This icons stands for mature content. When you see this icon at the end of a gallery title it means that the gallery contains mature content or images not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. In order to view a mature-content gallery, a visitor must be logged in and over 18 according to the date of birth in his/her profile.

Can I host my web comic here?
Of course. Just create a gallery for your comic and start uploading. You can even publish pages in advance.
Can I create multiple comic galleries?
Yes, you can create as many comic galleries as you want. However, a gallery will not appear to anyone but you until you upload at least one page to it.
How do I edit my gallery info (logo, title, description, etc.)?
Login to your main ComicSpace page and click on the "Manage Comic Galleries" link, then click on the "Edit Gallery Info" link.
How do I upload comic pages/artwork to my gallery?
First, you must create a comic gallery. After you've created your gallery, click on the "Manage Comic Galleries" link on your main ComicSpace page, then clicking on the "Upload Artwork" link for your gallery.
Tooncasting allows others to display your latest comic page on their Web site or blog simply by adding a line of javascript code to their page. Because your comic page is linked back to your ComicSpace gallery, tooncasting can be a great way to grow your audience.
To enable/disable tooncasting for your gallery, login to your main ComicSpace page, click on "Manage Comic Galleries", then click on "Edit Gallery Info" and check the box at the bottom of the page.
Can I upload pages to be published at a future date?
Yes. You can select a date up to 60 days in the future. When readers visit your gallery, they'll see a placeholder graphic in place of any page that has not yet published.
How do I re-order the pages in my gallery?
You pages are presented in chronological order, so all you have to do is edit the publication dates for the pages you want to reorder. Follow these steps to edit your pages...
- Login to your main ComicSpace page and click on the "Manage Comic Galleries" link.
- Click the checkbox above each of the pages you want to edit.
- Click the "Edit selected pages" option at the bottom of the page.
- Click the "Submit" button.
- Edit the publication dates for your pages.
- Click the "Submit" button.
You can also click on the little pencil icon [
] under an individual page in your gallery if you want to edit just that page.
Which comic galleries are displayed on my main ComicSpace page?
By default, the three galleries with the newest pages are displayed on your main ComicSpace page. If you have more than three galleries, a "All Comic Galleries" link will appear.
You can have up to ten galleries displayed on your main page by clicking on "Manage Account", then selecting the desired number from the drop down menu.
You can customize the order in which your galleries appear by clicking on "Manage Comic Galleries", then on "Reorder Comic Galleries".
Can I change the order in which my comic galleries are displayed?
Yes, login to your main ComicSpace page, click on "Manage Comic Galleries", then click on "Reorder Comic Galleries".
How many comic pages can I upload to a gallery?
As many as you want. There's no limit.
How much bandwidth am I allowed to use each month?
There's no bandwidth limit.
Which file types are allowed?
Your image files must be saved in GIF, JPG, or PNG format.
If I upload my artwork to ComicSpace, who owns it?
You own your artwork and can remove it from the ComicSpace server at any time.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
That's a silly question and I won't answer it.
