'comics, yeah'.
Isn't it great when you are talking to a bunch of people and you don't have to defend your interest in what is still regarded by most as a kid thing.
SO I am not a comics wrtier or artist, merely a devoted and loyal fan.

As a teacher, I use comics in the classroom. I teach philosophy and ethics to 11-16 year olds and find comics often encapsulate complex issues in a way the kids can understand.

If you ever have examples of how comics tackle social issues, please pass on the issue number to me. I buy a wide range of comics on a weekly basis, but you know there is often something that sneaks by.

If you as a creator tackle moral/ethical/philosophical/religious issues I would love to hear from you.

I occasionally present seminars to other teachers about raising literacy standards using comics and so I spread the love!

keep creative you wonderful people.

Hi, how are you? Our studio recently put a new site up. www.pencily.com is a great source of inspiration for illustrators, animators and designers, so I hope you find it as useful as we do!

All the best,

Hi, Thanks for the Link!

"Using comics to teach Philosophy and Ethics to teens". Wow, they never had a class like that when I was a kid, though I think it's a great idea.

From experience, I can tell you comics are a great way to wean kids onto reading; and broader ideas and concepts and interests.

As far as recommendations of good reads for teens? I'd say the Marv Wolfman/George Perez THE NEW TEEN TITANS holds up pretty well. Also Christopher Priest's QUANTUM AND WOODY, is a little more mature, but is a fun, involving, diverse read, that content wise and structure wise is still pretty far ahead of what anyone else has done with the medium since.

Hope these help. And feel free to check out my page for other ludicrous recommendations.
