Header: The wonderful Ramblings of a C.E.O
Bulletin: I called it ! I called it. I met with Jer regarding the Sass Parilla last night. He
got the book in his hands and he started wondering why I hadn't lettered it. Well
I went home after that discussion and agreeing to letter the book, but I saw that
my schedule wouldn't allow me to drop any paying gigs because of lettering the
Sass book. I offered Jer my discount rate for lettering pages if he wanted me to do
it. I bumped this week's paying gig to after next week, so I know they are going
to find someone else to do it. I can use the cash from Sass gig to pay towards my dues
and the remainder can go for the Character stand ups that we want to get for next year.
Next week's paying gig goes towards my dwindling Japan fund. Arghh!

I guess I will be completing the pages of Sass ala lettering tonight, tomorrow, and
Saturday. Thanks to Jerome I got a great deal on some DVDs this past Sunday to help
push my mind into auto-pilot while I use the PC this weekend. I finally picked up
a copy of Apocalypto, Sweeney Todd, National Treasure 2 and The Fountain. I went back
on Tuesday and picked up my reserve copy of Hellboy 2. He also gave me a digital DVD
copy of The Hulk to play on my PC. That was a great weekend for the DVD collector in
me. Thanks Jerome!

I usually use movies that I really like as background noise to whatever
job I am working on. Its harder with subtitled films like Brotherhood of the Wolf or
Apocalypto. But if I see a film several times then I can replay the visuals in my
head to match the audios I am peripherally receiving. Its weird I know but it works
for me. I can't do that, work on the PC AND use the phone though, lol. I have my
limitations. I am only human afterall.

I have to meet Spider out at Arbor Place mall Saturday afternoon at 3:30. He is
unable to go with us to Columbus this next weekend for Nerdacon so we are picking up
materials , freebies, and books for 4DeepStudio to help sell in the Artist Alley.
Plus he has a tall stand up already for Twilight: TBSW . I was going to try and look
for my large tape recorder to capture one of the audio segments with Spider for
Brain Freeze #9 in The House That Jack Built format for this podcast. I asked Leslie
if she had it but she said Olivia probably had it. I need to look around one more
time at my place before asking her. Anyway, I will need to still get from Spider's
over to the other end of I-20 by 8pm to meet Jerome over at Wild Wings Cafe & Sports
Bar to watch that fight at 10pm. Keith will be joining us after he gets off work there.
I promised Jerome and Keith that I would come hang out with them Saturday night
since I haven't done that in a few weeks. Who knows? A UFC match just be what I need
to loose some steam in the old noggin'. I'll still bring my idea notebook to sketch
out some ideas for the future projects 2009 before the fight starts. Besides,
Jerome and I will need to get a good table for Keith to join us after 10pm. Ah the
things I do to ensure I have a social life....:)

That puts me back to finishing any remaining pages on SassParilla on Sunday before
I meet with Jer, Chuck, and Blake that evening to discuss the pages, logos, lettering
and what not. Jer is supposed to meet me there to drop off the cash either way. I will
be giving him the lettered pages on a CD at that time. 26 pages lettered in two and 1/2
days is totally do-able. I also want to digitally touch up the images of The Bass that
Sass is using in the book. I found some cool shots for the neck and head that I want to
use on that instrument. I also want to finish adding some touches to The Empress' afro
that I forgot to do. I can complete those on Sunday morning before I burn the CD.

I was reading the Chairman's BLOG on the united fanzine organization website at lunch
today. I am worried that they may be hitting a rough patch with some of their members
following through on required assignments and such. My friend Nic Carcieri is chairing
that co-op currently. He has been doing a great job with it so far. He is the reason I
became interested in joining the UFO Co-op. Several of the members were discussing
cost effective measures in printing, self promotion, website upkeep and membership
goals. We went through this at GIRAFNetwork before we ironed out a few things setting
us on track. I know how tough management can be of any group that you honestly love
working with. I plan to help him in any capacity that he asks of me.

I emailed everyone again today with the reminders of what they were supposed to reply
back with after our Halloween meeting. Jerome had to extend the deadlien for the
articles that he needed from everyone till 11/17. I also reminded everyone that they
had until 11/14 Friday 8pm to get my email replys back to me on their marketing promises.
I hate to say it but Keith hasn't gotten any Next... assignments out to anyone either.
I have been waiting on that email. I know he works odd hours but that's no excuse
for getting his GIRAF duties completed. I work several 10 hr days every week and then
some, yet I seem to be getting it all done. Explain that...:)

*****Okay Keith*****
I have asked that you set up the next Staff meeting during the week of 12/1 and 12/7.
You may want to see if we can get everyone together on a Tuesday/Friday/Sunday afternoon
day if its condusive with your schedule. Just a heads up when scheduling this meeting.
Be aware that if you are planning to ask everyone to attend then be aware of the
following when working with own schedule
