GL is mainly a Sci-fi themed comic based around the struggle of the weak and withering remains of a once decadent, artful society. They now live on the ruined leftovers of their ancestors, their history mostly forgotten. The days are muted by dull overcast skies and the nights haunted by creatures they can only describe as "demons."

A religion once considered cultish and cruel is the only safeguard they have left. For these are desperate times and humans must act as demons themselves just to survive.
