In a future uncomfortably close to now, the world has become obsessed with a new pop culture phenomenon known simply as THE GAME -- an incredible lifelike simulation of reality where players compete for ratings, fame and monetary rewards in what are often brutal and violent conflicts with one another. Of course no one is, or can be, actually harmed in these events - it’s just a game.
