COMPLETE STORY SYNOPSIS

My name is HIDEO HAN I'm a 27 year old graphic artist and musical composer at Chipola College, Marianna, Florida.

The name of the book is Perseus Handsome. The genre is based in reality with plausible superhero elements. It has an X file/science fiction feel to it with a touch of eastern manga flavor (gray toned pages w/color covers). Targeted for 13 and up Action-Adventure, sci-fi, and superhero fans are sure find a place in their library with Perseus.

It’s about The Honeysuckle Society; a "nice" privately funded agency with hopes of making the world a better place through atmoshperic alteration. These "social experiments" were headed by a team of genetic futurists and their leader Dr. Hideo Han aka "Hideous Handsome." In the 60's they emitted EPEPs- euphoric peace-enducing pheremones into the atmosphere causing the whole "flower power" craze.

The Unmentionables- an organization that controls all the world's
government saw this as a threat and sabotaged it by deterring the public with war (Vietnam). Most didn't notice because they believed the war started before the movement. Honeysuckle failed. They tried again after the Vietnam area and Cold War died down right at the end of the 80's. They migrated their operations to the UK and the revolution of peace evolved into the EDM (electronic dance music and underground rave culture which spread worldwide and began to secretly dominate the youth during the 90s. The government once again intervened in two ways; the Gulf War- another uneccesary battle and by damaging the rave sub-culture. This was done with pushing drugs into into the scene and making it destroy itself much like in the 60's.

The Unmentionables wouldn't have it because without war there lacks an extreme amount of currency circulation. Guns and weapons of mass destruction production are the world's primary commodity. And without it many unmentionables will lose a lifetime of wealth. There is also another reason why they do this- resources. The earth's population does not have a sufficient amount of food and resources to feed each and every human being on the planet without the expenditure of governmental funds. Its better to save that money and make more by selling the same poor people weapons to fight a staged threat they have no way of ending. The only way these things end is when the Unmentionables have filled their pockets for the time being or they (the unmentionables) are obliterated.

That's where Perseus comes in.

Hideous and his team were at a lost. They were getting their asses seriously kicked and eventually they'd no longer have a corner of the planet to migrate their base to. Eventually they'd get caught. But Hideo thought of a way to sneak up on the revolution. He knew he couldn't dodge the troops for long so he know he needed to pass on his traits to a new generation of peacemakers.

During his dilemmna he let his guard down and fell in love with a woman aptly dubbed "Kitty Kat Karlson." She was a simple woman that had no idea about his second life. At the time, he and his team had just finished the "Perseus Project" it would allow for one person to become
the emitter of the EPEP pheremones. The volunteer would undoubtfully be at high risk of death at the hands of the Unmentionables and an all day target so Hideous stepped to the plate. Hideo Han aka Hideous Handsome chose to change his molecules and put his life on the line to give his world peace.

His scientists were dying strange deaths. It was obvious to him they were being knocked off by the Unmentionables. Soon his UK operations closed down and he and Kitty moved back to the states. At the time she was expecting and Hideous feared that the child may carry on the EPEP strand of DNA in him. They setted in suburbia and he broke ties with the remaining scientists to live out the rest of his life as a common man; a civilian.

Perseus or Purcee as her peers call her has quite a ride trying to discover the real meaning of it all and what the Honeysuckle Society is truly about. Through the tale we will join her in her birth, childhood, in which she gets kidnapped and trained to fight (through observation only) by a rengade shaolin monk named Disciple-9. She would watch him practice and memorize the movements and styles. I also chronical her enrollment into a catholic school (under the tutilage of Sista Fallon), her venture back into the real world and start as an entertainment icon and bouncer for the main club in her city, The Hideout. After settling in and establishing a place of residence, Perseus searches for her family in the neighboring city of Petersburg and to wicked avail, finds her exotic dancing mother, KittyKat Handsome,aka Erotic Nightmare (stage name) that ostracizes her instantly. This drives lil Purcee to suicide because she has no one in the world, only clubby acquaintances. But she is once again saved by an unexpected host, Disciple-9 (D-9). She faults him for the domino-downfall which is her life and ignites into battle with him. After their sparring session in which a bit of a draw takes place, D-9 reveals that he was sent by her father Hideous. At the end the first issue they set out to rescue him from the Unmentionables and further discover the secrets of the Honeysuckle Society.

Perseus' weapon on choice is a glowstick made of a malleable yet impervious substance. It is used on a string or wire in the manriki style much like Daredevil except with more of a dance flair and attitude. She's a club dancer/dj/entertainer/bouncer on the occupational front. Inside the stick is a glowing green liquid that has euphoric properties that can only be explained as a clarifying blissfilled elixer. For instance if someone is stricken with the stick, it would be much akin to a feeling like Ghost Rider's pennance stare, except they would experience happiness and clarity instead of fear. Perseus has a connection with the stick/vile because it took the place of what would've been her food source/afterbirth as an infant in the womb. As for the stick; the look of the weapon was chosen after observing the happy emotions of rave "candy kids".
