Header: Zing Comics #1 - The Stories, Part One!
Bulletin: As you might know, Zing is a 52-page anthology hitting the streets on June 6th. It is our first foray into the printing world and, as such, we want it to do well. You know, so it doesn't discourage us from future printings.

So, in order to keep the excitement up, I'm going to take six weeks to talk a bit about each story. Starting today and every Tuesday through March 13th, you can come here and learn a little more about what you're going to get when you buy Zing.

We're going to start with the earliest piece in the book: The Origin of Al Djinn. This is a story written by Mathew D. Rhys and takes place in 1939.

While Al Djinn is not the first character we created for Ideal Comics, he is the most important. He is the cornerstone of our superhero universe.

His story is relatively simple. He is a young man that discovers great power from a magic lamp. He can be seen here with his friends The Gamesman and Night Terror. (He's the one of the right. The one with the lamp.)

As the name implies, this is his origin story.

It's a simple "rags-to-riches" kind of story that sets the tone for everything Escher's World is all about.

I'll go a bit more into the character next week, because then I'll be talking about the next story in the IC Timeline, A Lesson In Life.

For more information, go to Ideal Comics.
