| Bulletin: | The respected artist Hunt Emerson is set to pay a visit to Shropshire’s County Town this December to sign copies of his new book – a collaboration with the renowned comic’s creator Bryan Talbot – entitled Naked Artist. The book features tales of real life behind the scenes comics creator capers, penned by Talbot and Illustrated by Emerson in his own unmistakable and unique style. The signing will take place at Shropshire’s one and only comic’s speciality shop Infinity & Beyond on Saturday December 1st from 11am until 5pm. The artist will also be available for sketching, art sales and will be happy to chat to fans all through the day. Also, for that day only, copies of the book Naked Artist, will be available to buy at a special discounted rate, as well as other comic titles featuring the work of the legendary creator. Host of the event and friend of the artist Shane Chebsey said: “It’s a real honour to have such a respected and prolific comics creator as our special guest at the shop. I think it’s great that local fans will have the chance to meet Hunt and view some of his original artwork all on their doorstep.” This signing could be the first in a series of local events featuring internationally famous comic artists appearing in Shrewsbury. He has published around 30 comic books and albums, mainly with Knockabout Comics (London), including Lady Chatterley's Lover, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and Casanova's Last Stand. His characters include Firkin the Cat, (a strip of sexual satire that has run in Fiesta magazine, UK, since 1981) Calculus Cat, (the cat that hates television), PussPuss, (yes - another cat!), Max Zillion and Alto Ego, (a jazz musician and his saxophone), Alan Rabbit, and many more. His comic strips have been translated into 10 languages, he has been awarded several Comic Strip prizes, and in 2000 he was chosen for inclusion in the exhibition "Les Maitres de la Bande Dessinee Europeenne" by the Bibliotheque Nationale de France and the CNBDI, Angouleme.
