| Header: | Sesame Street parody and karmic punk romance | ||
| Bulletin: | I've posted "new" stuff in my Comic Galleries. I uploaded the entirety of my 4-page short story "Marked" from the mini-comics anthology Monochrome Fiesta. It's a reality-hopping existential piece, with a punk rawk quasi-love story tacked onto it. You'll see what I mean (hopefully). Recommended if you like: BKV's The Escapists, Oni Press relationship-oriented titles, Grant Morrison's earlier and more obscure stuff, the "Locas" stories from Love & Rockets http://www.comicspace.com/ipisdei/comics.php?action=gallery&comic_id=5065 Also, one-page gags excerpted from Barangay Sesame, a parody of Sesame Street featuring "edgy" and "dark" sensibilities. There's a version of Super Grover, as reimagined by a would-be Frank Miller-esque hack, as well as the sad fate of the Typewriter Guy. (You know -- the one who rolls along going "Noonienoonienoo". Yeah, him.) Recommended if you like: Evan Dorkin's stuff, Forlorn Funnies, Babyhead, Jim Mahfood's Stupid Comics http://www.comicspace.com/ipisdei/comics.php?action=gallery&comic_id=5067 |
