o-o Comic Con in Sao Paulo, BRAZIL - Oct 27 - Nov 4, 2007 ! o-o


Hi. My name is Ivan Costa and I'm a Brazilian comic book reader and enthusiast of this art form.

I've been reading and collecting comic books for years (actually decades), and during the process I was lucky enough make friends within the industry.

Aside my marketing career - I have even written a book on Arts Sponsorship, I'm also responsible for a comic con in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The event, called Feira do Livro Infantil, Juvenil e Quadrinhos de Sao Paulo.

The main objective of the con is to develop the habit of reading among kids and young adults, and to make that happen we count with the help of sponsors, the local chamber of publishers, the government and other parties.

I’m glad to say that last year we had over 120,000 visitors during the 9-day period of the con. Fans enjoyed the workshops, signings and other activities, including a comic art exhibit called “Superheroes among us”, a first here in São Paulo, with strong media coverage.
