Oh, God...another reason to be on the internet?!

Hello, one and all. I am Jamie S. Rich, writer of prose and comics alike. In the sequential art world, many of you might know me from my time as editor in chief of Oni Press (1998-2004) or even before that, as a lowly scrub at Dark Horse (1994-1998). Since leaving editing to write full time, I have had several projects come out, including the literary novels Cut My Hair, I Was Someone Dead The Everlasting, and most recently, Have You Seen the Horizon Lately? As far as comic books, try these on for size:

* Love the Way You Love with Marc Ellerby

* 12 Reasons Why I Love Her with Joelle Jones

In 2008, Joelle and I will publish the crime graphic novel You Have Killed Me through Oni Press, as well.

Check out my blog, Confessions of a Pop Fan.

I also write DVD and film reviews for DVD Talk, so if you can tear yourself away from the funnybooks, check a few of them out.

And if you don't have enough of me here, there is always MySpace.

Thanks for the add, Jamie. I remember enjoying Cut My Hair, years ago; I even did a review for it in CBG.

Yes, yes! The online pseudonym didn't ring a bell, but I know you!

Hey, Jamie!
Thanks for adding Mandala and the Process to your faves! That's very cool of you and I appreciate the added exposure. Hope all's well with you, Jamie. Will you be at SDCC this year? Hope I see you there!
Joe

Well, you can tell who is burning the late night oil. It's 1:30 am here...and you're out there!

Yes, I am sure our paths will cross at the Oni booth.

RE: Portand Comic Book Show - tomorrow, 2/18!

Curse you people being in America. ;_;
Have a good one!

will you be at the con this weekend? you'd best be! (even though it's just an excuse for comic shop vendors to drag out their ancient backstock in hopes that balding fat guys with a beer gut will buy stuff.

I'm going as Joelle's assistant.

I just read your review of Screw-on Head, great stuff. I wish there would be more episodes, it's unfortunate. I think it really offers something different, and it could've built up to be something truly great. Never mind, half of these executives in television have their heads stuck up their arses from what I hear. Maybe they should try screwing them on (excuse the pun).

RE: Review of David Mack DVD

Oooh - I love David mack. His work is always breath-taking. Anyone who claims comics are not art - i point them at Kabuki for starters. Gorgeous!!

A crime ogn?! I cannot wait to check that out, man. Very cool.

lol yeah I like my lil punk angel. Are you by any chance a fan of scarlet spider-man?

[ Posted by JimmyKitty on Jan 20th, 2007 2:49 PM ]...

Jamie, you know I've already gushed about your work on 12 REASONS WHY I LOVE HER - now I see another project with Joelle for 2007 - and I can't wait. Wonderful stuff. You have a flair for teaming up with the right artists.

Hi Jamie,

I enjoy reading your reviews on DVD Talk. Good job!

[ Posted by Matt_Grigsby on Jan 9th, 2007 6:38 PM ]...

Heh, sorry about the typo Jamie. And wow, thats freakin' awesome that you got to work with Stan and everyone else! I can't wait to see what you have in store for 2007 at Oni.

Best of luck to you!

[ Posted by Matt_Grigsby on Jan 8th, 2007 3:20 PM ]...

So Jaime, I feel like I should get to know you better. In your career, how long were you at Dark Horse before for you switched to Oni? What books were you editing? How was it working with our dear friend Diana?

Oh, and on a side note, at my comic shop in Southwest Portland my comics vendor accidentaly entered in Diamond that she wanted 20 copies of 12 Reasons (even though she wanted 2 just to see if they sell) and she ended up selling them all, and having to restock.

At lest one of those questions is answered in my bio, as is the correct spelling of my name. ;)

As to the others, those are long questions. My main work at Dark Horse was with Stan Sakai, Mike Allred, and Renee French, so I was no slouch. I also edited DARK HORSE PRESENTS after Bob Schreck left.
