Holy Comics! - that's me and a silent partner.

I'm the writer of Captain Miracle, a semi-ironic parody of Captain Marvel ("Shazam!"), as if he was powered by God Almighty rather than by pagan gods, illustrated by Ozzy Longoria. I'm also the writer and illustrator of Fetus Christ, which may or may not run as a back-up feature in the Miracle publication. We're at the printing and distribution decision-making stage with those.

I'm writing Jesús, which is a kind of "Ultimate Testament", updating the 4 gospels for the 21st century ("Cooler! Sexier! More miracles! Fewer sermons!"). For the sake of getting it done on a more timely basis than I can do on my own, I'd love to work with another illustrator on it (hint, hint), but I may end up drawing it myself. If Miracle does well enough in print, I'll try serializing this through the Direct Market; otherwise I'll web it. An eventual black-leather-bound collection with gold foil lettering is essential.

Meanwhile, I've also scripted a comic I'll definitely be illustrating myself, called Peterphile. It's a bit like Lost Girls but queerer and less pretentious, about what happens when a grown-up boy-lover encounters the boy who wouldn't grow up (who'll be free of copyright worldwide in 2008).

There is no budget to pay artists to join the portal. It will have to be restricted to those 18 and over because there will surely be some naughty bits, but right now that is the only restriction on the slate. I am just excited about getting the site up to see what evolves. My aim is to have a broad cross-section of comics, art and humor. I am hopeful that the site will appeal to the whole GLBT community.
