Congrats on the Eisner Nom, The Other Side was one of the best stories I've read in recent memory.

Just read the first two issues of Scalped.
Good stuff. Great art too.

Forgive me if this comes across as brown-nosing, but I must say that your comics make visible the stories of the marginalized underclasses of the globalized world. The Other Side and Scalped, in particular, offer a genuine diversity of represenatation, amidst the four-color spandex. By "genuine diversity", I mean a warts-and-all presentation of the over-looked stories that get drowned out by the watered-down multiculturalism of contemporary myth-making. And better yet, you do so without recourse to cheesy, feel-good "We Are The World"-ism, or romanticized images of "noble savages". But that's *not* the reason why you're quickly becoming one of my favorite writers -- I like your stuff because it's exciting, white-knuckled storytelling, with real human characters at its core. And ultimately, that's what I hope for, every time I pick up a new issue.

Thanks for the add Jason. Congrats on Scalped & TOS! The cover on issue 2 of Scalped is off the chain.

Jason,
Page 2 splash of Scalped is wonderful. Reminds me of the great Batman/ Monk cover from Detective Comics #31 by Bob Kane way back in 1939. Classic!

Jason,
I really dug the first issue of "Scalped." I've been recommending it to any customers who have ever bought a Vertigo book. There's so much dramatic possibility in the American Indian Movement of the 70s that still resonates today.
Good luck!

SCALPED & THE OTHER SIDE are amazing! I am really enjoying this work

[ Posted by AstrokittyComics on Jan 3rd, 2007 2:12 AM ]...

Yeah, I'm stoked about the signing thingie. I hope ya'll dig my small but cozy comic shoppe. I just pronounced the last "e" in that word.

Heh.

Anyway...there is an art show opening for a local cartoonist and sculptor at the Olive Gallery that evening if you guys want to go and check it out. It's Andrew Hadle...a guy from our area who is very talented.

Also, we gots cool places to eat and all sorts of other stuff to do. In fact, my employee Joe is your designated guide to awesomeness for the evening if ya'll stick around! We like to make our guests feel at home and, well, party if they'd like to.

The only thing missing in that interview on Scryptic was a healthy dose of profanity! Oh well, can't have everything, right?

SCALPED #1 and THE OTHER SIDE #4 are both due out this week, so I believe it's been officially re-named "Jason Aaron Week." Celebrate accordingly.

Sorry, I forgot, you can't develop new technologies and make them profitable in one fiscal quarter. No bonus for me!

Yes, I remember the 2004 restraining order. But I thought that was cancelled out by your 2005 declaration of love.
