Ok so here I am finally on comicspace.com. This is way cooler than myspace already.
Anway, I am a 28 year old comic fan. I started to read comics when I was about 12 and had an on again off again love for them. I grew up on a steady diet of Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane Marvel, DC,and Image stuff. I was in a band for a while, but decided to get back into comics steadily around 2004. Now I am into all kinds of titles.
About 3 years ago I decided to go back to school for something artistic, I wasn't sure if I wanted to get into comics or not, so I went to school for digital animation. Now and days there really isn't any other type of animation right? While I was there I thought that if I learned how things moved and to animate stuff, comics would be a breeze, ha! The joke was on me. Anyway, I finished school, but wasn't really into animation anymore, but I took some art classes, I really liked figure drawing and the still life drawing classes. I took it on my own to buy a lot of reference books and a digital camera for reference photos, and started working on doing some comic stuff for my portfolio. I worked on one recently to have it ready for the Atlanta Comics Expo, and I was lucky enough to get a review by Steve Scott and Bob Schreck! It was very cool to meet these guys and get some great advice. I am currently working on some new material to show on here for reviews, advice, and for furture portfolio reviews at cons.
