More information than you would ever want to know about him is at http://www.jeffmariotte.com. My blog is at http://jeff_mariotte.typepad.com/my_weblog/ My MySpace page is at http://www.myspace.com/jeffmariotte Comics I've written include Desperadoes, Presidential Material: Barack Obama, Angel, CVO: Covert Vampiric Operations, CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Shield, Gen13, StormWatch, WildC.A.T.S, Hazard, Deathblow, Wetworks/Vampirella, and many more. I've also written a number of novels based on comic books, including Spider-Man, Gen13, 30 Days of Night, and the DC Universe. One of my recent comic releases was Zombie Cop, from Image Comics/Shadowline. It's the story of Joe Mundy, a cop who, during the course of an investigation, is infected with the zombie virus that's overtaking his city. As he's losing the mental and physical faculties that make him human, he's trying to keep his city safe and solve his last case: finding the source of the zombie outbreak. It's horrific and humorous, tender and tragic all at the same time. The beautifully painted art is by Szymon Kudranski. The comic story is a full 96 pages, and there's an additional prose novella set in the same zombie-plagued city, with spot illustrations by Szymon, that literally packs the rest of the 136-page book right up to the inside back cover. Not a page is wasted, and it's all only $14.99. If you're on MySpace make friends with Zombie Cop's page and see some exclusive artwork from the book! ![]() Graveslinger, written by Shannon Eric Denton and myself, with art by John Cboins and Nima Sorat, was released in a trade paperback by IDW Publishing . It's a great weird Western about Frank Timmons, a prison undertaker who accidentally released 117 undead killers from the grave and has to track them down and send them back to Hell. Here's the cover. ![]() Another recent release was the Desperadoes Omnibus, collecting every story ever published of this award-winning, highly acclaimed weird western series. Art is by John Cassaday, John Lucas, John Severin, Jeremy Haun, and Alberto Dose. ![]() My next novel release will be Cold Black Hearts, coming in June from Penguin/Jove. The ruins on the border of New Mexico and Mexico were once the bustling town of New Dominion. But in 1933, most of its population was massacred--and no one was ever arrested for the brutal crime. Now, the land once known as New Dominion is the site of more recent murders. Former police detective Annie O'Brien, blessed--or cursed--with a heightened sense of empathy, is conducting the investigation. Staying alone in an old house near the desolate remains of the town, she finds herself haunted by the tragedies that occurred there--tragedies that threaten to overwhelm her unusual gift even as New Dominion threatens to rise from the ashes... ![]() Jeff_Mariotte's BulletinsDisplaying 1-10 of 21 bulletins...
