Bring a camera with you! If it bursts into flames and you get it on tape, that's GREAT publicity for the comic! LOL!!

You can buy this comic later in the summer! The JHZ Anthology - Those Slack-Jaw Blues, will be coming out (hopefully) in July. And then in October, a 12-page JHZ story will be appearing in the Alterna Comics anthology Alterna Tales #2. :)

Is this anthology your first book, or are there previous anthologies? 2 Replies [ Latest posted on June 11th, 2007 2:33 PM ]

Is JHZ going to San Diego this year?
I'm thinking a "Jesus Hates Sobriety" get-together would be cool. |

a fellow zombie afficianado posed a couple of great conflicts about jesus hating zombies: A) doesn't JC love everybody, no matter what? B) isn't he kinda a zombie himself?
Watcha think? still awesome though, can't wait for the anthology to be finished. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on May 27th, 2007 9:19 PM ]

I've fielded both of these before, but here goes:
A) The BIBLE leads us to believe JC loved everyone. But the Bible was written by dudes who weren't there, so for all we know, JC coulda been a bit of a dick to everyone... Besides, I like to think that, in his love for everyone, he'd CERTAINLY be willing to hate some zombies...
B) Jesus was never a zombie!! There's a complex difference... Someone has better explained it than I can, so I'll just use it here:
"The separation between "Resurrected" and "Zombie" could be a grey area in terms of literary use. Generally a resurrection only occurs at the guidance of the Divine Good (whether it be pagan, christian, or indian). Now a zombie is always given birth through the use of evil means, traditionally dark "voodoo" magic but more recently scientific hubris has come into play (it being the darker side of science). The defining characteristics between the resurrected and the zombified ar thus; Resurrected individual comes back entirely whole, complete with all memories and characteristics from previous life, sometimes including memories of his afterlife. A zombie is unwhole, they possess only the basic motor functions which allow for the fulfillment of our most base animalistic desire, survival."
But the way I like to put it is this: I don't seem to recall any stories in the Bible about JC lumbering around gnawing on people, which is a chief characteristic of zombies.
Either way, thanks for checking us out! ~ S |

Thanks for finding us so quickly. Jesus may hate zombies, but we should never forget that he was one as well. |

I think you're going to have to put an intro in the book explaining (among other things) why Jesus isn't a zombie. 1 Reply [ Latest posted on May 12th, 2007 10:31 AM ]

LOL!
No worries, Jordan, I actually wrote it into the script of one of the regular issues of JHZ so JC can address that very question himself.
Until then, perhaps people will attribute JC's hatred of zombies to a slightly unhealthy dose of self-loathing. ;)

Jesus also hates hangnails... especially when He doesn't have clippers to cut them off, cos He cant leave that shit alone, He's gotta mess with it or bite it off (which always ends badly). Jesus is so like me... 1 Reply [ Latest posted on May 10th, 2007 11:05 AM ]

You're so right! He DESPISES hangnails...
And he also hates warts. I've heard tell of a rumored missing chapter from the Bible in which JC, while sitting around a campfire, actually BITES a wart off of the side of his big toe. Man, that dude was EXTREME!

But wouldn't that whole rising from the dead thing technically make Jesus a zombie too? 1 Reply [ Latest posted on May 10th, 2007 11:04 AM ]

Cheers for adding Chainstore Massacre to your faves. Hopefully I'll be able to coax the artist onto this site and out of retirement soon. Keep up the great work! |
