5/9/08 Update Hey everyone! I want to let everybody know that I will definitely be in attendance at the Motor City Comicon. Paul Schultz and I will be at the table next to Jay Fife, so I expect you'll be able to locate us by the rowdiness. And speaking of Paul...The Serial Squad! was featured by Eric Martin in the April 26th podcast from The Comics Playground! The Comics Playground is a podcast focusing on all ages & kid friendly comics. Their aim is to educate and entertain readers of all ages and put the FUN back in comics! Since Paul and I both saw Serial Squad! as a kid friendly book, we were very excited to get the nod from Eric. He was kind enough to stop by our booth at the Pittsburgh Comicon and visit for a few minutes. He's a great guy and he's doing great work. Be sure to give it a listen. I also had the pleasure of meeting Jen Contino from The Pulse at the Pittsburgh Comicon. She has done an interview with Paul and a review of The Serial Squad! that appeared on The Pulse on May 8th. Jen is an extremely knowledgeable columnist and dedicated fan of the comic industry. Her commentary on The Pulse should be on everyone's bookmark list. That's it for now. Enjoy the columns and podcasts! We'll have some new updates to the website this week and I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of you at the Motor City show next weekend. See you there! -j. 4/21/08 Update Hey everyone! Just four days left to the Pittsburgh Comicon. Everyone at Bad Place is excited and I can't wait. We'll be at table S073, right beside Jay Fife. Stop by and hang out a bit. Also, there's now preview pages up on our website for all of our titles. Check 'em out at Bad Place Productions and maybe order a book or two! Here's hoping to see a lot of you this weekend! 4/8/08 Update The guys at Comic Book Noise have reviewed The Serial Squad! on their Indie Comic Book Noise podcast for April 9, 2008. Check it out and get the scoop on the indie comics shipping this week as well. Thanks to everyone at CBN for putting together intelligent, informative shows! ********** Come see us at Bad Place Productions. We've got new things happening all the time and we love to hear from our readers. I have also (finally) broken down and gotten a MySpace page. Drop by and say howdy! You can contact me directly at: jon.hodges@badplaceproductions.comor at: Bad Place Productions PO Box 18755 Cleveland Heights, OH 44118 Catch you later. -j.

I’m going about, inviting anyone and everyone, to participate in the greatest show in Indy Comics: Small Press Idol 2008. Last year, over 100 teams competed for the chance to be published, and dozens of the top projects have been appearing in Mysterious Visions Anthology. 3 of the other top projects have been picked up by 3rd party publishers, and a couple others are also now with the Dimestore Imprint. This year, we’re upping the ante. With a very small entry free, we’re going to have a CASH PRIZE for the winner, as well as a publishing deal. Sounds interesting? Anyone who is not currently being published by a “name” company, who is not making a living making comics, is eligible. So if you have a webcomic you’d like to rework a bit into a comic…entering will grab you lots of new eyes on your work. Self published issues haven’t been selling great? Kick it up a notch, and see how it stacks up in the spotlight. The Guidelines for this year’s contest are here: http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/IDOL08/index.h tm
If you can pass this message forward to anyone, anywhere, we can blow the lid off this thing! |

Hey, I'm hanging in there. Good to hear from you. What have you been up to? I went to Motor City Con last month. Thought maybe I'd catch you there. Chatted with Paul for a while though. I'm trying to get our website sorted out. Hopefully I'll be able to send out some kind of news about that soon. Take it easy man. I'll catch you later.

We are currently setting up Pay Pal on our website. Hopefully we'll have everything up and running by next weekend. Until then, you can order anything you need on here. Just pm me with the address where you want it shipped. As soon as we get your check or money order (whichever you like) we'll send it right out. In your case, it's on the way tomorrow morning, man! |
