| Bulletin: | For a little over a year now I have had a store at Etsy.com. Etsy is like a great big 24/7 craft fair where creative types can have their own store and sell their items. Of course Etsy takes a cut of what a person sells but it's very minor and listings cost only 20¢ per item for 6 months. It's a great system and one that I'm suprised more small press creators have not taken advantage of. Fair warning however, Etsy probably isn't the best place for Superhero comics or anything that looks "mainstream". Etsy is a site that's all about hand made items so if you send your book out to be published professionally I don't think I would bother with Etsy. If you're like me and hand staple every book and the stories are quirky Etsy might be a good place to try and promote your stuff. I opened my shop in November of 2005 and had an order within 24 hours. Since then I have sold close to 60 books which is more than I have ever sold off my own website. Each item you list has a link to paypal so ordering is easy. The shops are all very clean, simple and easy to navigate. If you've never seen Etsy I invite you to stop by my shop at www.jim8ball.etsy.com. Oh, and while your there, may I suggest a purchase of one of my many fine mini comics! | ||
