Hahaha... I forgot how the Comicspace reply system works.
At any rate, have you joined Wowio yet? Can't wait to finally get to read Amanda & Gunn and Cyberzone!!!!! 1 Reply [ Latest posted on February 22nd, 2008 4:59 PM ]

No, I haven't joined yet.
And yes, the reply system is an old memory now. Haha! I still like ComicSpace, though. I like that it doesn't look anything like the other social networks. It's just pure comics. |

Thanks much for the kind comment re: my Big Art Update. I actually have Paul Little helping out on Madgorum -- hoping that one might have a chance at finding a home at Image Shadowline. :) |

Thanks Jimmy.
It was a load off my shoulders when I rejected the editor. I'll see if he finds anybody, which should be interesting :p |

Sorry I won't be at San Diego this year. Only in spirit. Too much work to do, and not enough time to organize travel, hotel, booth/table, et. |

I was skimming through my collection and discovered Code Blue #1 and caught your name in the back. How many issues did it run? 1 Reply [ Latest posted on June 10th, 2007 2:44 PM ]

Re: Code Blue
Only one issue.
I pulled the plug on it - even though Image Comics said I could continue. The story and art didn't come together as I wanted. I could have tuned it up and fixed it along the way (as I'm doing with Bomb Queen), but CODE BLUE needs to start out of the gate properly. I rewrote the script, changed the direction. One day I'll get back to it. Perhaps a Graphic Novel?
I REALLY think this industry could use more romance, and basic human drama. CODE BLUE was to be my homage to the medical TV show, ER. Sadly... even if it's good for diversity in comics, it doesn't mean it'll sell in the market. Tough nut to crack nowaydays.
However.... thanks for the interest and the question. But some bones are best left buried in the past. Hahah! |

We should do a superhero book and call it something epic like "Shirt and Pants Man Adventures." :-P

Thanks! That one just rolled right off the pencil. A few doodles of the concept, but mostly that happened right on the page. My main concern was the rocket and gear she carries. I wanted her to look like she's heading out to WAR. |

i promised to return the critiques i get. so here goes: style is extremely clean, with a cartoony kind of slickness, seems to be mimicked in the quirky sorta gag humor dialogue.. the bomb queen works well for pin up art, but i remain baffled as to how her outfit stays on as she bounces around bombing stuff(im sure youve heard that before esp. from people who dont read alot of comics, i.e. those not desensitized to physical law defying spandex). i gathered that there may be an underlying critique of superhero comics within this superhero comic. having just finished reading the Watchmen, that is kind of at the forefront of my mind at the moment anyway. even the fact that shes a bomber has me thinking about terrorists, the comic seems to be a cynical spoof, if it does in fact consciously attempt to address national issues. i like the twins comic, i think the humor and gaggy ness is more appropriate, almost has a sunday comics feel, and i was releived at the lack of wickedly sneering egotistical lesbo terrorists in that one.. to sum up, i see your stuff being marketable to your average comic collector, plenty of babes and explosions in the first, where the twins might attract girls who read Sabrina teenage witch.. mad skills, mad skills! |
