Man, isn't that always the way most great pieces of work are created. You really nailed it. I mean....you just FEEL it. The heart of the piece pulsating in that pencil!

Thanks! That one just rolled right off the pencil. A few doodles of the concept, but mostly that happened right on the page. My main concern was the rocket and gear she carries. I wanted her to look like she's heading out to WAR.

Hahah! I really wish I could make it, sorry. I'm so behind on my deadlines it's a sin. And also, sorry I'm not doing commissions right now... as I said, deadlines = death of me. I'm just full of good news, aren't I? Haha! Still, thanks for stopping by, ComicSpace is a rockin' place to be!

i promised to return the critiques i get. so here goes: style is extremely clean, with a cartoony kind of slickness, seems to be mimicked in the quirky sorta gag humor dialogue.. the bomb queen works well for pin up art, but i remain baffled as to how her outfit stays on as she bounces around bombing stuff(im sure youve heard that before esp. from people who dont read alot of comics, i.e. those not desensitized to physical law defying spandex). i gathered that there may be an underlying critique of superhero comics within this superhero comic. having just finished reading the Watchmen, that is kind of at the forefront of my mind at the moment anyway. even the fact that shes a bomber has me thinking about terrorists, the comic seems to be a cynical spoof, if it does in fact consciously attempt to address national issues. i like the twins comic, i think the humor and gaggy ness is more appropriate, almost has a sunday comics feel, and i was releived at the lack of wickedly sneering egotistical lesbo terrorists in that one.. to sum up, i see your stuff being marketable to your average comic collector, plenty of babes and explosions in the first, where the twins might attract girls who read Sabrina teenage witch.. mad skills, mad skills!

Thanks for checking out the calendar!! It took quite a bit of time to put together, but at least I don't have to buy one this year. :) Next year, I just have to pop in some new images, and change the dates, and I'll have another one! I checked out your trailer, and I have to say it looks really good!

I have to say I've never picked up your books. I don't get out to comic shops, I do most of my ordering online nowadays, but I'll be sure to keep an eye out for Bomb Queen.

Josh, you're insane... you know that?
But THANKS for the Hello Kitty! I'm a sucker for it.
That's some nice art!

Thanks. I am having a really hard time over Skeezix because I wasn't there, etc. He was a truly BAD cat, stealing other cats' food and breaking into places he was not supposed to--so we miss him IMMENSELY! Having the other cats here to order us around helps a lot.

I looked for you at WonderCon, but never connected--!

And if you're reading my blog, you surely have a high threshhold for boredom!

Hey man, that Bomb Queen trailer is dynamite. What's the music from?

Greg

Royalty free music track from ampisound.com - the artist is Matias Puumala and the track is called, "On a Border Town - Ambush".

He's from Finland, and I think he has some video game music cred.

I'm still trying to figure out how to work that damn trailer online. The "small" version is VERY small... but it loads fast. The bigger version is a little better.... but it takes forever to load. The timing is a little off on the larger trailer, too. I really just threw it together with iMovie. If I had the time and the energy for just that I'd make a better trailer.... with art designed FOR IT - rather than just tossing in any old scans I have handy.

Also, the music track is about 30 seconds too long. I wish I could edit that down. Takes too long to reach the uptempo, if you ask me.

I'm being told July - I just sent the cover art for solicitation this month.
As usual, there will be extras. Stay tuned.

Don't say that. Everyone is worthy - as long as they're being creative. And as I said, I think "Rob" is a cool character.

Hi Jimmy,
fantastic work on Bomb Queen mate.

Thank you. But I tell you.... I never feel I've got the art down. You know how folks (like you and I) look hard on our own work. It's always like that for me. I see other work around the Internet and I wonder why I got a break. Haha!

Thanks! The costume is always changing, too.
She's like Batman.... she's got a "suit" for every occassion.
I went to your page and I saw your work. You've got some near naked women, too! Haha!

Actually.... I haven't had a Zima in a VERY long time. Since you mention it, I should get back on the Zima wagon again.

Jimmy,
You do such fun work bro and your compositions are awesome!
Looks like I'm gonna' have to set up my lemonade stand again so I can get some Bomb Queen trades... Oh YES!

I know I'm busy, I know I've been living under a rock...
but damn, how did I miss your comment??
The famous Josh comments on my work? Too cool!

Thank you, and keep up the great work on ComicSpace!

[ Posted by Josh on Feb 2nd, 2007 12:17 PM ]...

Ha! No big deal. I've spent the last three hours replying to PMs, comments, and now I have to tackle emails. I need a personal assistant. Maybe one who looks like Bomb Queen. She's not based on anyone you know, is she?

[ Posted by Cannibill_Bill on Jan 31st, 2007 8:43 PM ]...

I'm sure that you're tired of hearing it already, but: I love Bomb Queen! Really, I do! Keep it up, make more, be sure to blow things up real good!

And, yes, as a matter of fact, I do have all of the issues. Have fun!
