Wow! I grew up on top of the San Andreas fault line in southern California. Yes, I grew up out in the god forsaken desert. Earthquakes were just a part of normal life. Like tumbleweeds, high winds, and Joshua tree climbing. Good times.

The thing about an earthquake is that you sometimes don't realize it is happening until it's over. Then you have to worry about aftershocks.

Life is better here in Maryland where the only thing we have to worry about is the random snow storm. That can usually be countered with milk, bread, and toilet paper. It's a local phenomenon. Before the snow starts to fall, people always run out to the grocery store and stock up on the holy trinity of blizzard preparation. Milk, bread, and toilet paper

Haha! Holy trinity, indeed.

You know, Im surprised people are even reading these "blog things". I thought I was just typing to myself... which I am, as a form of therapy. Hey, speaking of Maryland, my daughter spent a couple of years there in her teenage years. My ex-wife lives there, thus my daughter (who never met her mother) spent some time. She told me all her experiences as a Californian teen going to Maryland. She arrived in the summer - which was lovely. But then it all changed on her. The Fall. The Winter. Hell... the fact that there's SEASONS at all, hahaha! California is so bland when it comes to weather. If you live in the cities you have to *travel* just to get into the snow, and that's often controlled, and groomed ski resorts - where they often MAKE extra snow with machines.

Strange world, eh?

Thanks for the comments, and HELLO Maryland - from California.

Jimmy, in picking up on a comment you had returned to me, I wanted to clarify what I like about Bomb Queen. As a very controlled, law abiding type of gal, I enjoy seeing a strong female character who doesn't live by the constraints that I do. I also like the fact that amidst all the adversity, she still has that evil spunk deep in her core. It really works for me.

As for the glass half full mentality, by nature I am a positive, cheery, irritatingly happy person. That doesn't mean there isn't a dark side. Heh heh. It is nice to see our girl take no prisoners, and I have got to tell you, I am biting my nails to see the conclusion of this lovely tale. I ordered it locally this time, so I am hoping to see it Wednesday like the Diamond list says!

Take care!

I can verify that she is irritatingly happy. Well, maybe just happy. Now her husband, that guy is irritating. ;)

As to your last micro-blog - I'm with you, man. I do my best work around one in the morning ... sadly, my day job requires me to get up at five. (Which explains an awful lot about me, if you think about it.)

I don't know what it is, or why I'm so awake and feeling creative then, but I'm just enjoying writing during my Christmas break, which means I can be up until three. Woohoo!

Hey Jimmie! Jon "Kiku Makes Mischief/Fishbone" Morris here! Imagine my surprise when my local comics guy put Bomb Queen in my box without axing, heck, I hadn't even heard of it before - "I know you're a fan of Jimmie Robinson," he says, AND HE IS RIGHT. Glad to see you still working AND getting some serious rub, too! Congrats!

I actually had to promise my wallet that I would tone it down with the amount of ad space I bought! I'm afraid that I'll be laying low until the next payday. But I shall return, oh yes... ;)

Thanx for the add JimmyKitty!

Kitty wrote, "Marv, get to work... you slacker!"

And Marv said unto him, "Slacker? You shittin' me?! My writer can't keep up with me. I'm waiting for script as it is. And this isn't the first time I've raced down a writer. I swear from now on I only start scripts AFTER they are finished. Of course, I've said that before and here I am...

Actually Inanna's Tears is going to be a good one. It'll start at ModernTales in January and then Mark and Aki at ASP have expressed interest."

Well I am still a "spring Kitty" (just 16 years), but alas, no spotlight for me either! Good on you for liking Hello Kitty ^_^ I love it! It's awesome!

I tell you I get so many "LOOKS" being a guy who likes Hello Kitty. Folks just don't understand the power of CUTE. Of course it would be nice if I, myself, had that power, but I'm old, gray, and fat. I'm content to sit on the sidelines and cheer. No spotlight for me.

Hi Jimmie; thanks for the comments, I`m glad you enjoyed REBECCA BLACK. And if you`re thinking The Minger`s Cassie...? Nope.

If you`d like to read more (at this stage, in script form), I`d be happy to email it to you. I think you`d get a kick out of Rebecca`s arch-nemesis Cabra Cini, the Craig-David-tunes-singing voodoo junkie hitwoman (one of my favorite characters), who`s introduced in #3. (I also think she could put in a mean appearance as a threat for Bomb Queen, if you`re short on ideas for your book anytime!)

As for what I`m working on next; I`ve just finished the scripts for a 4-issue mini-for-submission called GOLD TOWN: which is about a would-be magician, his pornstar ex, a supposed-badass and a girl looking for her place in life--brought together by a drunken scottish fallen sorceror (or nutjob) to stop metaphysical serial killer The Mangler: who`s `creatively` hacking up starlets/the surgically enhanced in this like-Hollywood-but-MORE-fucked-up town!

We`re just finishing the first ten comic pages from #1, ready for submission, and I`d be happy to send you a link to them if you`d like to see `em!

-Best,

Sam

Hey fellow Kitty =)

Thanks for the add! ^_^

I picked up Bomb Queen II #1 in Seattle, and issue #2 in Philadelphia! Strange but true, my smaller town does not order this book, BUT I am working on it! It is my newest addiction! Wish me luck!

Thank you!

Hey Jimmy, thanks for the kind words. I always appreciated your support of Koni over on the Image boards back when I was starting out. I'll definitely get some of the artwork on here once it's activated. Who knows? Maybe one day we can do a Bomb Queen/Koni crossover. Even a super villianess needs a vacation, right? Hawaii's just as good as any other place. :)

Obligatory thanks for the add comment here. I have to say, you're the only person I can think of that can make a hot woman in a thong be scary to me. I really enjoyed the first series and I'm liking the second so far. I also love how you put little in jokes in your art. I have just one question. Is Bomb Queen's kitty like the cat from Trigun or something more sinister? Ok, so that's two questions technically. But hey, I'm a fan boy who has kids of his own so it's easy to see why I'd miscount. Anyways, I love your work and thanks for the microblog entries.

Why exactly, pray tell, are we discussing Derek's "package"...

Because Kris Simon wanted to make his package BIG.

Oh that, Kris, she's a wild one I tell ya. ;)

[ Posted by Editor_Girl on Dec 16th, 2006 6:25 PM ]...

Hey! Stop talking about me like I'm not here! And stop talking about Derek's big package.

Hey I am sure it will look fine...half the stuff in Diamond never even sees the light of day. Your stuff will be just fine, will check it out when it comes out.

Thanks for the add, Jimmie! Let me know when you`ve had the chance to look at Rebecca Black. Best.

I thought you should be the first to know: I've abandoned the whole penciler/penciller debate and instead will, from henceforth, be known as a 'pencil monkey'!

"Pencil monkey" is pretty good. I admit, that's got a ring to it. Or, "pencil jockey", or something like that. So you didn't advocate change to Josh / management to simply delete the "tag abuse"?
