Hi everyone!

My name is Joe Prado, and I’m an artist/agent(Art&Comics International) from Brazil.

Seeing that so many of my friends are here, I decided to join!

At age of 4 I saw a Batman comic book that Dick Sprang did, and I fell in love with the comics! After that, my grampa, who was a great comics collector and fan, introduced me to the classics like Flash Gordon, Prince Valiant, Jungle Jim, Dick Tracy, X-9, The Spirit, Rip Kirby, Terry & The Pirates and many other classic comics. So, that was when I decided to become a comic-book artist! =)

Later, when I went to college I got in touch with the techniques of perspective, illustration and Art History. This contributed a LOT to my art, and to my life.

After that, I did about 250 pages of samples for tons of US publishers, such as Marvel, DC, Chaos!, Dark Horse, Crossgen, Lightning, Devils Due and many others.

Then 2 years ago my good friend, Eddie Berganza asked me if I wanted to help Ivan Reis on an issue of Action Comics… due to our stylistic similarities Eddie said that I would be perfect to fill-in for Ivan. Before than that I did some small gigs, but for me Action Comics was my real debut on super-heroes comics… that are my real passion.

And that’s how all this started. It took me 14 years to break in the US market. But hey! I’m not a quitter, so… =)

Besides my passion for comics, I have 2 more in my life... Tatiana, my beloved and beautiful wife, and Gabriela, my baby-daughter (ok, she´s 5 years old now, not a baby anymore, but to me she´ll always be my "baby-daughter" - lol)... and both of them love comic books!

Ah! And I can’t forget about our dogs – Thor and Pandora! They are a blast!
