I maintain a regular column, Consideration for the Comatose, at the website http://popthought.com/. I do reviews of comic books, novels, films, and even games. I also do interviews on occasion. I tend to shy away from super-hero books, the subtitle of the column is "Mostly Hardboiled" - I like pulp fiction/Fawcett Gold Medal type comics - detective, mystery, horror, action-adventure, lucha libre, dark corners, dark alleys, and the like.

If you'd like to submit anything for review, please feel free to email me or leave a private message here. Or visit my Xanga page: http://www.xanga.com/JoeKinski.

Check out some of the more current 2008 columns:

Oh wow, you're from Ontario. My mother recently moved out there. It's a total trip-and-a-half.
Anyway, hello!

Hey ... we even have an international airport now (with two flights a day to Mexico) ... but ya, it even seems the boondocks to go see my friends in LA...

Thanks for the review, Joe! What a great day. First I find out I'll be able to go to NYCC, now this. You going to make it out to New York this year?

Ha .. I wish. I'm a real local yokel Californio when it comes to convention going ... Wizardworld LA and SD are about it. We were looking at Chicago this year instead of SD ... but we'll see. What all's on your schedule this year?

Ha! Don't I know it. It was too expensive to live there 15-16 years ago ... otherwise I might have stayed.

Ah, Lucha Libre you say... Just got a dvd of Los Campeones Justicieros the other day. Classic. I've often thought of an audio drama series that follows a famous Luchadore as he travels the world solving crimes... one day...

Cool. I am really looking forward to checking out the shows on the computer at home. They sound like a lot of fun. One luchador film to check out that's fairly easy to find on dvd is Los Canallas ... a Mil Mascaras starrer. Good stuff.

Thanks for the add, Joe! We'll let you know when El Valiente becomes available.
