| Bulletin: | Att: Bright Shadow Media email list recipients Hello again, I am contacting each of you by BCC to let you know that I am working as Managing Editor with an Indian Publisher that is financing the creation of comic books based on classic English literature, 80 books in total- 20 per quarter. The books will be marketed and distributed globally. We are looking for artists, colorists, letterers, and writers who can condense a classic novel into a 25 page comic. The target market will be ages 11 to 17, schools and libraries. Note to inkers: due to budget restraints we would be hiring you as sequential artists to produce the penciled pages. Your pages will go directly to a colorist who would darken and colorize the work. I will contact our affiliates from Argentina and the Phillipines for the coloring and lettering work. Frankly, the better price I can get on outsourcing the coloring/lettering, the better page rate I can get for the writers and artists. The Publisher is working on a limited budget but there is a lot of work to be had. I have spoken long distance with the publisher in New Delhi to try and negotiate the highest page rate I could. Rather than produce less books at a higher page rate, their strategy is to flood the market then reprint graphic novel collections as well as merchandising. My goal is to set us up as the production studio for this new publisher. They are owned by a larger technology company which is owned by an even larger company so I feel comfortable that this is worth the effort. The publisher wants to hire experienced comics professionals such as yourselves.
