| Header: | Saying goodbye to a friend... | ||
| Bulletin: | A brilliantly talented artist, an amazing human being, and someone I called friend has passed away. Drew Posada. If you've ever seen his distinguished coloring style, then you immediately know his work when you see it again. He brought a sense of realism to his digital colors that-- to me-- have yet to be topped. A talented painter as well, Drew was the first artist to ever be accepted at Bane Galleries aside from the long run they had representing Olivia and Sorayama's work. And he deserved that honor. I'll miss seeing him grow as an artist and I'm sad that there will be no more work from him. But, what I'll miss most about him is the man. Drew was a deep and intelligent human being. He was easy to talk to and know and he was without ego. When you talked to Drew, the one thing you always knew right away was how much he loved art. He was the high point of going into Extreme for me every week. We'd go out back and smoke some cigars together and shoot the breeze for an hour or two. I hadn't spoken to him in almost a year when I called him to try and get his ass out to Comic-Con again. In the past few months, I'd kept telling myself to give him a call, but I never did... I can only hope now that somehow, somewhere he knows how much I admired him as an artist and a man. I could go on, but I'll just ask that you please visit these links to get to know Drew and his work. I'll smoke a stogie in your honor, pal. I'll miss ya.
