| Header: | Looking to publish -- Compilation of Graphic Novels. Submissions Desired | ||
| Bulletin: | Hey all, My name is Jon and I am an associate editor for a New York based publisher called Mark Batty Publisher (www.markbattypublisher.com). We do a lot of books on visual culture and visual communication, and we are looking to publish our first graphic novel. I am heading up the project and am really interested in receiving submissions by independent artists (and by that, I just mean people who have yet to be widely published and who have never been published for a significant amount of money) who have either short graphic novels, works in progress, or even writers (with a manuscript) who haven't yet teamed up with an artist, and artists (with a collection they are looking to turn into a graphic novel) who haven't teamed up with a writer. My idea is to find four or five shorter graphic novels (about 40-60 pages in length), all from different artistic angles, and compile them. I am looking for work that is outside of the box, preferably non-superhero (but if the work is really amazing, superhero work is fine), and highly visual. If any of you are interested in this, please email me or befriend me (I am new to the site, and I gladly welcome any befriendings). Also, please check out the MBP website (again, www.markbattypublisher.com), so that you can see what type of books we do and how committed we are to visual excellence. I hope this finds all of you well. And I hope many of you are interested in this project. Please get in touch with me. All best, Jon jon@markbattypublisher.com |
