| Header: | Deconstructing ComicSpace (Or, where's Josh been all summer?) | ||
| Bulletin: | Contrary to popular belief, I am still living and breathing (though not necessarily in that order). Most of my summer has been spent trying to stabilize ComicSpace and get those load times under control. To this end, I've abandoned Dreamhost and moved the site to LunarPages (major improvement so far). Also, I've recently taken a couple features offline: alerts & email notifications, and the hit counter for comic galleries. Both were eating up resources like Pac-Man at a Dippin' Dots (because, you know, Pac-Man eats dots. Oh, never mind!). I'm also trying to restructure the way in which the database is accessed, but all this stuff takes time. Once I feel like the site is it's old zippy self again and fully stable, I'll add everything back in that I took out. And then, finally, I can start tinkering with new features. --Josh |
