RE: ComicSpace and Webcomics Nation are Merging!!!

That's great! As long as we don't start having to pay for the options we already have. I'd hate to come here one day just to find out we have to pay for space or something like that.

Don't worry, it will continue to be free.

The merger is not about money for Joey and I. If we were just interested in money, we both would have sold to Platinum when they came calling a couple years ago. And we certainly wouldn't have been working 60-80 hour weeks year after year to barely pay the mortgage. If this thing doesn't work I'll be a bag boy at the local grocery store within a year.

The merger is about obtaining resources to create something greater than the some of its parts. If it works, all comic creators will benefit enormously.

This makes me very happy, as these are two communities I’m proud to be active on. How will this affect us as content providers, I’ll be interested to see.

Thanks, Stan! The merger shouldn't have any negative effects on creators. Our core vision is to completely empower comic creators and, well... I probably shouldn't say any more about this right now. Lots of details to hash out.

The merger sounds awesome and I can't wait to see the new ComicSpace. I just hope small timers like myself will still be able to post comics for free.

Everything will continue to be free. Even better than free. More info later.

VERY NICE to see ComicSpace still on the move and still upgrading and expanding. This merge is just proof of a long term commitment. A win for comics. Congrats to Josh and all parties.

It was torture not being able to talk about what was developing over the summer. Joey and I were both afraid our users would think we had abandoned them because we had shifted from innovating on our existing sites to innovating behind the scenes on the new super site. I honestly think fans and creators are going to be very very happy when we're finished.

Will you still love me after the merger?

RE: ComicSpace and Webcomics Nation are Merging!!!

Pretty cool, I've been wondering where some features that I'd expect to be a part of ComicSpace were, and mayhaps now such things will come to fruition. Go you!

Hey Josh, any way you can post about our new podcast at ComiXology? This week we're featuring the return of Captain Carrot and discussing the new book with the creators. Joe Ferrara is our guest host.

Josh,
Question? Is it possible to post a bulletin out to everyone on Comic Space? I read the FAQ on bulletins and it says they go out to everyone in your friends or befriended list, is that it? I would like to post messages to a wider audience or group.
Thanks
Joe

Hey Josh. Just a quick question. Will the page view counter ever come back?
And thanks for all the work you do! Keep up the great work!

Steve.

Hi, Josh.

Thanks for adding me to your friends list. I'll try and get some work up in my gallery, soon-watch this space!!

[ Posted by Wolfgang on Aug 29th, 2007 4:20 AM ]...

Josh, I keep getting an error when I upload a comic to my gallery: "There was a problem making a thumbnail for [filename].jpg. No files were uploaded." I can't upload anything. I get this error on every file.

What is wrong with the site? The front page says, "ComicSpace is a community of over 0 comic fans and creators... hosting over 0 comic galleries... containing over 0 comic pages!"
