I find your concept about vampires interesting and would like to read more.

I wouldn't worry about Underworld too much considering its part of a current trend where vampires are stand-ins for action heroes in movies. You can easily replace the term "vampire" for plenty of other mythical and supernatural type creatures and most these movies would still work the same.
