Exhibitions, New Projects and A Website Update

I have finally updated my website: http://www.kazmantra.co.uk to feature some newer artwork and some news. "What news?" I hear you ask. (I have very sensitive hearing, almost like a DOG.)

I've been working on quite a few different projects this year; I'm going to be in Best New Manga 2 this October, so I've been editing my story Tsuchigumo to make it presentable. Looks like there are going to be some very very good stories in BNM2, I had a few sneaky peaks at other artists' work at Bristol, and if last year's BNM1 is anything to go by, it should be awesome.

On a related note, Best New Manga contributors are displaying some of their artwork in the Japanese Embassy in London, in an exhibition celebrating the UK Manga scene.http://www.uk.emb-japan.go.jp/en/event/big_mjiman1.htmlThe exhibition runs from the 11 - 29th June, and they are also holding a manga-creating competition.

I'm also working on a non comics-related project, a music video for London-based band Hey Gravity! along with Gurdish Haugsdal - disturbing illustrator.

And there's always Rising Stars of Manga, yes, those gluttons for punishment, Tokyopop are runnning their manga contest this year, which I will be entering jointly along with the indie comics veteran Willie Hewes.

There seem to be even more projects lurking in the wings, also. Urban Beasts has taken a back seat for the time being at least from my point of view, the writers have to write it first, and they are busy people.

Thanks for reading my first Comicspace bulletin. I haven't really got used to this place yet, and since I'm still learning, I beg your indulgence.
