I fell out of a tree once and now I listen to too much Emo. There...worst bio ever. I like my art to be rough, so that I can express more energy and emotion. Some people consider it lazy but it's just something I'm doing now. I to try to recapture the type of wonder and excitement I had for art when I was a kid and was cranking out stuff all the time. I feel like so much of comic book work can be smothering and highly-constrictive with its hundreds of rules and theories. I continue to learn those rules, hone my skills and broaden my knowledge, so that I might better express myself, create better work and ultimately, try to change them to suit my needs-- my vision.

Well, after several years of "preproduction" and sitting on a shelf, I've finally got the ending to a project I've had rattling around in the crowded basement of my brain and it's finally ready to start creeping up into the light. I'm not going to go into too many details but I'm starting the layouts within the next week and hope to push myself to have it pencilled by 2007's San Diego ComiCon, maybe even further along! It's going to be ALOT of work but it'll be a labor of love for sure. The book will involve as much of the things I love as I can cram into a well-told story. I'm not sure it'll be loved by everyone, but it's a story I've needed to tell for years-- since I was about 17 actually-- and I hope it'll have it's fans. I'll actually be doing all the art and writing so it's a challenge I've been dreading but am anxiously anticipating. Anyway, stay tuned and maybe I'll spill some juicy details and maybe even some sketches. |

Well, I spent most of last night sketching and watching movies. I'm currently working on two pieces for a gallery book being put out soon. I'm pretty sure I know what direction I want to go with it and should start working on it soon. I'm also working to get some pages and sketches done to shop to Oni. I had some good feedback from them a while back when they did a talent search and feel I'm ready to get serious about focusing on getting things rolling. So, we'll see.;D |

Did some painting this weekend. Felt great to be back in the thick of it and have the paint under my finernails again, but somehow I got it all over my apartment. No more inviting Captain Morgan to my painting parties.;D |
