Which came first, the writing of the lettering? Were you bit by a radioactive calligrapher or english teacher?

Drawing came first but not as naturally as writing...writing is in my blood. My grandmother made a modest living writing two novels and tons of short fiction for magazines. Lettering came about as a way to cut costs doing my own comics...I was already having to find someone to draw the stuff I figured I'd save myself some hassle and learn to letter. Now lettering helps pay for the art and color and whatnot. Still hanging onto the idea I can make the writing work but if I even give that up I might try to letter fulltime. Hopefully I'll never find out if i could handle it or not. :D
