A little about me. I've been reading comic books for 20 years now. I started out reading the more mainstream comics like Daredevil and X-Men. Though when I was 14 I was introduced to the Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I was just blown away by the complexity of this comic. I remember thinking the super hero genre can learn a thing or two from it. Since then while I still like some of the mainstream super hero comics, I tend to look for deeper philosophical meaning in a story. For that reason I am a big fan of J. Micheal Straczynski, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, Garth Ennis, and Geof Johns. I am particularly fond of stories with some mystical content. I would argue that Doctor Strange is one of the best and most underrated characters in comics for that reason.
I use to publish a fanzine with some of my comic strips back when I was 18 and 19. Now though I am ready to go on to bigger projects. I am currently working on a writing project and hope to get the first three pages of it up in my gallery soon. Even though I may write a super hero later. Lately I have been writing a Psychedelic fantasy with some super natural content. Even though I never lived there I have a great love for the late sixties and early seventies. That time period is a source of inspiration to me. The music was at its prime, political movements were strong, and it was such a time of expanding on new ideas and exploring philosophy that was not too appropriate to explore before. I get really inspired in my stories by some of the mystical content of music by Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Rainbow, etc. I like to incorporate some of the imagery of that time period into my stories. I particularly like schools of thought such as animism and polytheism. I definately believe in a divinity within nature and I feel that there is no seperation between the material and spirit world. I also believe that before all of creation there was a void or a primal chaos, then order put things in place. These primitive concepts of the earth and the universe make more sence to me. I feel that modern man has blinded himself from the natural laws of the universe through over analysing it to death. These are some of the philosophies I have been writing about in my works.
