I'm a writer. Of a sorts.

You may know me for Phonogram where Jamie McKelvie and I dredge through our record collections for your amusement. It's a six-issue mini-series from Image comics and is, basically, Hellblazer meets High Fidelity. Basically. If that sounds like your sort of thing, you can read more about it here.

(A surprising amount of people do. When you're as perpetually downbeat as we are, this is a pleasant surprise.)

You may know me from other things. If so, you can read more about them here.

(You can also read about my standard array of falling-over-in-public adventures there too. The word "DUNK!" may feature heavily, because I am often DUNK!)

I live in Bath in a room full of cardboard. This is a fine step forward from the previous couple of months, where I've been sleeping on sofas.

Pleased to meet you.

See...I had this whole joke planned about loving "Smoke on the Water" and then I realised that Ian Gillan's name is spelled differently to yours (and is, hence, effectively a completely different name, merely sounding similar to yours, and thus losing much of its comic potential in the confusing you with him area). So, let's just say that, now I've read all six issues, Phonogram was really very good (as in, if you keep that up, your name [hopefully spelled correctly, but, you know, what are the odds, really?] is likely to start appearing on lists alongside names like "Alan Moore" and "Warren Ellis". See, there's the potential for a whole other "names sounding like other names" joke in there now, but I probably should have stopped babbling already. I'll go now...

Good to meet you. Anything likened to HIGH FIDELITY is okay by me.

You, sir, are one of the only reasons I still enter my LCS. Thanks for P-gram.

The last 5 pages of Phonogram #3 blew me away. Dance, kohl, dance. Cool.

You've nailed the connection between magic and music. But what is it about magic and comics? They seem to have a synergy, don't they?

Thanks for the add, Phonogram has been a wild ride and a half so far, I'm pretty curious to see where it's going and how it'll end. Take care.

Phonogram has been one of my favorite comics in what has turned out to be a great year for new and inventive stuff.
And you guys like to drink as well so you're cool with me!

My favorite part of the latest issue was the "revolution is just change, throw the ashes to the wind, don't rub the soot on your face" sequence. Excellent insight! Great work on the comic.

Your book has captured the feeling of making a clown cry.

It is gloriously satisfying.
