An open letter to those who use Project Wonderful

Hello, fellow webcomickers.

Like many of you, I use Project Wonderful to run ads on my comic's website. It is exactly what it promises--a fair, transparent, and wonderful service. I do, however, have one problem.

My comic is rated All Ages. I've specified that only ads rated C, or safe for children, can be displayed on my site. And yet, despite this, I've had a few banners for adults only comics appear on my website. How did this happen? Because the ad ratings are an honor system. Users specify the rating for their ads themselves. The default is "no special rating," which means people placing ads for porn are actually selecting the C rating for their ads. I can't think of another explanation for why pornographic ads are appearing on my site, unless Project Wonderful has a bug that lets these ads through to my ad box.

I've complained to Project Wonderful, asking if there's a way for users to notify PW if an ad is incorrectly rated. So far, I've received no reply. I've had to change my settings to approve ads now, and I had to go through and ban several users from bidding on my ad space.

I'm asking, for goodness sake, if you have a Project Wonderful account, PLEASE go through your ads and make sure they are rated correctly. Check your ads, and forward this so others will check their ads. This is the only thing we can do until Project Wonderful decides to solve this problem.
