CAUTION: Counterfeit Doors of Opportunity

What if your talent catches the eye of someone who is willing to commission you to design, illustrate or paint something that you know Jesus would be uncomfortable with?
A CD cover for a band with explicit lyrics? A layout design for a display on Evolution? Illustrate a book that celebrates same sex marriage? Would you do it?

Moses’ brother Aaron had the artistic talent to cast and fashion beautiful sculpture from molten gold. While Moses went up on Mt. Zion to hear directly from God on how to worship Him, the people became impatient and restless. They decided to attempt to worship God in their own way.

They “commissioned” Aaron to build an idol of gold, which conflicted with God’s way of doing things. Aaron was recruited to use his skill and talent to create something that contributed to the people’s disobedience. He had a God given ability that was used in direct opposition to a God given lifestyle.

Be careful. Art in all it’s forms influences people. Your talent has the ability to affect the mind, emotions and habits of those it comes in contact with. What goes into the mind can be seen within the lifestyle.

For this reason, the enemy would love to have counterfeit doors of opportunity open for his own hidden agenda using your creative talent. If one of those doors were opened to you, would you walk through it?
