My name's Joie and I'm a cosplayer, art student, comics fan and general geek. I started reading comics back in highschool and even put together my own indie press book with a friend. Unfortunately we only ever put out one issue, so that was both the beginning and end of my comic writing career. Since then I've written and run several Live Action Roleplaying Games, did some editing and layout work for Aftermath!MAGIC, and am currently working on any number of other writing projects (mostly poetry and short fiction). As a cosplayer I occasionally do promotional work as a spokesmodel (read: booth babe) at various sci-fi/fantasy/comics/anime conventions.

My love of comics tends towards the offbeat. I enjoy a good superhero yarn, but I'm particularly fond of the more literary or edgy works that can be found among smaller press comics. I cut my teeth on DC's Vertigo imprint and have expanded my reading from there.

I'm currently engaged to be married to one of the developers for Icarus Studios' Fallen Earth MMORPG (and yes, I will promote the hell out of it *g*).
