Header: Kismetropolis Update! Webcomic Awareness Day!
Bulletin: Kismetropolis for Online Comics Day and Cinco De Mayo - is now up
Feel free to discuss today's comic in the forum!

And more importantly:

Matt Boyd, of Mac Hall and Three Panel Soul was fired from his job working under government contract. A coworker overheard him discussing the purchase of target practice paper for rifle shooting, around the same time as the Virginia Tech shootings. Said coworker reported it, and they fired him on the spot without so much as the chance to clean out his desk or, apparently, the chance to explain himself.

So Matt chronicled his experience about it here.

It gets worse.

Some of his former coworkers found the comics, and called them in as a threat. Matt was visited by four police detectives at his home. The coworkersalso claimed the woman pictured in comic #21 resembled one of them, apparently unaware that Matt does not create the art for the strip. Thecomics were called a borderline terroristic threat.

The story is here.

Digg this!

I'm doing my part to spread this far and wide, because this is a bad road to start down. Every creative person on ComicSpace could end up a borderline terrorist if we joke or blog or draw about anything DHS considers a touchy subject.

And that's scary. Definitely worth the Awareness part of Webcomic Awareness day.
