Both consumer culture and creature comforts get turned on their ear when a homeless beaver dons a cat mask and decides to live the plush life of a housepet. Meet "kitten", the beaver in disguise-and "poodle", the showdog with a heart of gold and a face of stone. Visit http://www.kittenandpoodle.com to take a look.

The best way to know more about CNW is to be there. Or at least to visit the website (www.cartoonists.net) and check it out. Since there is just so much to tell I will sum up.
Cartoonists Northwest is an association of professional and amateur cartoonists, animators, & illustrators based in Seattle, WA. We are very very proud to say that we have many of the top names in these fields on our membership roster and are among the best organizations of our kind in the Pacific Northwest and around the world.
Boil that down and it means 25 great years of truly talented people from all walks of the cartooning industry coming together to write, draw, network, and be pals. We meet on the third saturday of every month (that means this weekend) at 5pm at the School of Visual Concepts in downtown Seattle. Just in the shadow of the Space Needle. We hang out for about two hours or so, learn a lot, and have a bunch of fun. This weekend our newest president (just won the election against me last month) will be teaching us all how to give our best presence at conventions in prep for Emerald City ComiCon in April.
That's the short end of it. I'm really happy to meet more artists from the area and really really encourage you to come to the school this weekend and check it out. I'm sure you'll find it worth while. If not this weekend there will be another meeting next month, the website is always up and active, and now you have me to harass about it all. So don't be a stranger!
Talk to you soooooooooooooooooon!!!!!!!! |

Thanks for the link and the comments, Eliza! Sorry for this delayed response. I've been away from kitten and poodle for a few weeks, and am looking forward to getting things going again. Hope your New Year is off to a good start. Ian |

Hi there! We’re starting up this year’s Small Press Idol…and wanted to invite you to the grand unveiling of this year’s Guidelines. I apologize for the all-in-one nature of this. At this time, individuals and teams have a little over a month to get things together and be ready to post their Round 1 entries. Round 1 will last till March 25th. It’s a solid window to get a project together and qualified for Round 2 past our judge panel. If you are interested in being a contestant, this is fair warning to get a project going! If you are a news outlet or resource of any sort, we invite you to help spread the word about Small Press Idol, and get on the official Sponsors and Supporters list on the Idol Main Page. Traditionally, the page has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits a month for the 5 months the contest runs. All we ask in return for the link placement on our prominently placed list, is a link back in some way that is fairly prominent, and that you indeed cover the contest if you are a news site. You can contact us about that right from the guidelines page. Just want to watch the show? That’s great! Now is time to sign up at the site so you can VOTE in the rounds to come, and post comments about your favorites! We’re expecting hundreds of contestants this year. It should be a lot of fun!

Hope this message reaches you in the spirit it was intended, you are welcome to ask questions, and otherwise make sure this is for real. This is the fourth year for the SPI. Last year’s contest pages are still online. So that’s what this is about, hope it interests you!

This is a really neat comic strip! I never heard about it before - but I'm glad you tapped me on the shoulder to let me know. Nice art and solid delivery of the FUNNY! Kitten and Poodle rule! :) |

Ha! I loved your style the moment it fell upon my eyes! Even more so is that Tyler Martin (Shhh, his post is right below mine) likes your strip as well! I can't wait to dive through the whole run of Kitten and Poodle. |
