| Header: | Kitty Litter is going on hiatus. | ||
| Bulletin: | This is really hard to write. It feels like a break up letter. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to put Kitty Litter on an indeffinite hiatus. I can't express enough how much I hate to do this but I feel I have to. When I started Kitty Litter over three years ago in minicomic form I loved doing it. It was a rush. I wrote it fast, drew it fast and it felt right. When I moved it to the web I primarily did the same thing but I gave myself a schedule. Five days a week. Which after a year I dropped to every other day in then a month or so later to Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and lately I've been updating like twice a week. Point blank I'm burnt out. I dread having to do each episode, it's feeling like a chore and that's not why I started the comic. I need a break to love it again. I don't know when Kitty Litter will return. It could be a month, three months, a year. But I feel this is something that has to happen if I'm ever to do these characters justice. When I do return it will most likely be on a much looser schedule. I believe that is the biggest explanation to my burn out. My day job has constant deadlines and then I come home and I have more deadlines, for something I'm supposed to love. What will I be doing on my break? Well I hope to post on this blog regulary with artwork that I'll be doing. I'll be concentrating on my music with my band the Modrats, I'd like to start painting again. I'll be playing video games, something that very much took the back seat in the past couple years. I don't want to dissapear at all. I'm gonna keep creative and do my best to let everyone know what's going on. I owe all of my readers that, I have more people reading my stuff now than I ever have before and that makes this even harder. I have been trying to write this post now for an hour trying to word everything perfect the way I want it to sound and I just don't thing that's going to happen. So just know that I've appreciated every email, comment, encouragement, patience, and the occasional donation I've recieved from you readers. It's kept me going. I will be back. And stay tuned to this blog for news. Thank you, Ryan H. |
