Header: Collaboration needed for submission
Bulletin: Hello everyone.

My name is Randy Taylor and I am the owner of a small (very small)press publishing company called KnightShift Entertainment. We currently publish two books on a not so regular basis, Assassins' Guild and Cry. But that is not why I am here today.

I am here to find an artist with whom to collaborate in putting together a submission. Don't get me wrong, I live doing my own thing and self publishing, but I would like to try to go a little further in the industry.

So here is the idea. I need a penciler, I have an inker (and maybe a colorist and letterer) to put together a submission. I have the story or stories, the people who work with me on this will have a say in which one we do. I need the art. But here is the thing. I know there are a lot of you out there just waiting to get your break. So am I. But I am going to be extremely picky about who I choose. You have to be ready for the big time. You have to know how to tell a story with your art. You have to know how a comic flows. You have to know anatomy, perspective, layouts, character design. You have to know how to make a deadline. The whole enchilada. I want professional quality.

So you are asking what is in it for you? I can't pay you a page rate.

First off, this is going to be somewhere in the range of 5 to 10 pages and character designs to start with. Any artist worth their salt will be able to get that done in no time.

Second, I may have created the story and characters, but it will be the art team that brings them to life. And for that, if the book is picked up, we are all even partners. I am willing to have a agreement written up that states that.

You game? Send me an e-mail (taylor.randal@gmail.com) or post a reply here. Give me a link to your online portfolio. Style does not matter. I have a horror concept that would look great with a gritty, realistic style. I also have a superhero concept that my be cool in an manga style. I am not limiting to these styles, thats just how I see it. I will consider any style. If I like what I see, I will reply. I will post here when I find the right people to work with. I may not reply to all emails so if you don't here from me I apologize in advance.

There are a couple ideas I am working on right now. One is completely finished, except for a possible first issue rewrite. The other is mostly finished, except I am considering a character design revamp. Anyway, here is a basic synopsis of each series.

The Blackwood Project:
This is a horror series based in the real world. I consider it a mix of The X-Files and Hellblazer with a Lovecraftian feel. The characters do not work for the government, but a private organization that has been around for centuries. All members of this secret organization are part of the bloodline that originally formed Blackwood. The first story, which is 6 issues, takes a newly formed team, lead by a veteran member, to a town where everyone has vanished. The story is very involved and hard to get into with just this short synopsis. The main characters are Stuart McCaffery, Ini St. James, Rita Black and Nate Cross.

Power Punks:
This is a comedy superhero series. The team members are kids who fashion themselves after the adult heroes of their world. The team consists of Omega Boy, Kid Gloves, Princess Power, Kid Ranger and Marvin. The series begins with individual chapters, 10 to 12 pages each based on the origin of each character with chapter 6 being the origin of the team. Those six chapters are finished and I am currently working on the next issue where the team takes on a team of stripper thieves. What I am considering revamping in this book is the style of the characters. Originally I had them look like sidekicks to their adult counterparts, but now I am considering having them look more like the Punks that is part of the title using various "punk" types. For example, Omega Boy has the look of a 70's punk rocker, Kid Gloves would be a cyberpunk, Princess Power a goth punk, Kid Ranger a Mod, and Marvin, who is a alien, giving him a kind of Alien Punk look.
