| Bulletin: | Hello, comics fans! I'm a graduate of Clark University's computer careers institute, Nov.2004, which certifies the students in Adobe's creative suite. Unfortunately my personal funding ran out prior to the web designing program, so until I teach myself with Studio 8 I have no way of showcasing my work on the web. Until now! Joe Lauria of Illustrated Media, (SEVEN), provided a link to comicspace, and here I am! I've spent the past 20 months convention hopping, trying to get my name out there, and befriend an editor or art director that sees some potential in my talent. I entered the DC Comics talent search at Wiz. World Chicago last summer, which ended without my submission being considered well enough for council. I began working on Marvel works after that, and submitted some samples to them at NYCC 2007. That ended similarly to Chicago. I realize I'm shooting for the moon by soliciting (when they run these 'talent searches') to the Big Two comics publishers, but it's every creative persons dream to make it into there ranks! I've sent my samplers to Image, IDW, Vanguard, and the aforementioned Illustrated Media, and work daily on improving my coloring skills. I'm thankful that there's a site like this to air out some finished art for critique, and confidence building. A big 'hi there' to Josh! -Kon Li |
