In my secret identity, I am a ninja cartoonist. I live in the Enchanted Land-O-Cheese with my wife, who is an avatar of Chaos, my two daughters Gamera Rose and Rodan, a cat, too many fish and a hatful of ferrets.
I started writing and drawing small press comics back in the '80s when I went to college in Darkest Iowa; doing parodies such as Brisbane the Barbarian, Rambi, and Arizona Schwartz the Lost Archaeologist. My first professional sale was the script for a three issue limited series for INNOVATION entitled Celestial Mechanics. In the early '90s I began writing and drawing short stories for Antarctic Press' Ninja High School Annual and their furry anthologies, Furrlough and Genus. I continued contributing to the latter when they were moved over to Radio Comix. In addition to writing and drawing my own stories, I have collaborated with writer Paul Kidd and with artists Joe Rosales, Kenichi Lowe and Sanny Folkesson. Among the stories I have done are Aztec Anthropomorphic Amazons (a one-shot from Antarctic); "Toad of the RFC"(with writer Eric Oppen); "Tiger Orange" (with artist Kenichi Lowe); and "Sex Kitten" (an inexplicably wholesome series later compiled into a one-shot from Radio Comix). I've done little comics recently, but have an on-line presence at Pop Thought where I have a semi-monthly column about RPG's and a few galleries of my furry and non-furry work. Hannibal Tesla Adventure Magazine Hannibal Tesla is a character I created for a role-playing campaign I ran with my wife, Lute, a couple years back; he's a blatant pastiche of a certain Man of Bronze, complete with a team of fabuluous assistants who travel the globe with him having thrilling adventures and combatting evil. I decided to build a web-comic off his astounding exploits. The year is 1935. American rocketeers have reached the moon and science is making incredible breakthroughs in every field. But it is also an era in which diabolical madmen plot to rule the world. In the first adventure, "Sky Terror of Weng Hu", Tesla will face one such madman in the mountains of Tibet; as well as perhaps his greatest challenge of all, spitfire reporter Ginger DuPree. I plan on updating the strip every week and hope to bring thrills and excitement. Please join me. You can also follow Hannibal's adventures at Abandoned Towers, an online zine where you can find classic science fiction and fantasy, new stories, articles, cartoons and adventure! kurtoons's BulletinsDisplaying 1-10 of 12 bulletins...
