My pen name is Lace but my real name is Crystal Butler. I am a 24 year old manga artist from Atlanta, Georgia! I love drawing manga style comics and also I have my type of story obsessions. Shoujo (comics for girls) is one of my main obsessions although most of my stories are either shounen or another type of genre. I am an artist in a group of manga artist/friends by the name of Studio Misoka. Please look us up on comicspace!

I suppose I could start getting into my whole profile as an artist. Well I love to draw and CG of course but here are a couple of tidbits about myself for those of you who would be interested in working with me one day. I hope that I am not adding any restraints by doing this but lets see...

1. I love to sketch out my character designs and then play with my colored pencils to add life to art. I know that I don't do much traditional media but colored pencils is my start and that's how I work with creating my characters. Im not bad at colored pencil... its just that I prefer coloring my pinups on the computer.

2. I NEVER do full color comics. Why you ask? Well... color takes forever for me to do when I am just doing pinups. I don't want to color several panels that will in turn take the same amount of time as my pinups. I just refuse to do so for both of our sake and the sake of saving time ^-^;. I'm not being mean or anything. It's just that I find manga tone so much faster and more rewarding for me. So sorry folks, I stay away from fully coloring my comics, unless its the first page (i kinda like doing that because it gives color to the chars and the rest is in manga tone so everybody wins!)

3. My tools of the trade are:
a. Pencil, paper, colored pencil,soft tissue, blending pencil/marker,prisma color markers, sakura micron ink pens and lightbox (if by any slim chance that I work with traditional media)
b. Photoshop 6 and cs2, manga studio debut, painter 8 wacom graphire 3 tablet (my digital lurvs)

4. I do comics mostly but I also love to do pinups, although they take me longer to do. My Deviantart page is http://xxlacexx.deviantart.com . 5. I refuse to do manga traditionally. I don't have much time for it. All of my manga is done digitally, so don't ask for me to do traditional manga :p. I know how to cut and paste tone but I am not that patient.

6. If you would like to do any pinup collaborations with me then send me a private message through my comicspace. If you want to work on a comic project, please take into consideration of what I will and won't do. I have to take into consideration our time limitations and my limitations too. We want to complete it right? :3

Well that's all that I can think of for right now. I love meeting new people so don't hesitate to befriend me! Learning the art of others is very rewarding. Maybe we can learn from each other some day!

If you are interested in manga/anime Commissions, please follow these rules! I don't draw in any other style so don't ask if I can draw your super hero idea.

1. I only allow 2 do overs of the initial sketch. I've had some people want MASSIVE do overs becuase they just can't make up their minds. Anything after 2, i'm charging 2 dollars a piece. This is to help move the commission along smoother.

2. I don't color comics for anyone. Don't ask. DO NOT ASK. I take enough time with coloring just 1 picture. I can't color pages and pages full of stuff.

3. I will do character designs and design sheets but I am not going to draw anyones comic. I don't have the time for it. I have my own projects plus one that I am working on with a writer. Just. No.

4. I don't mind doing artistic nudes. Noooo problem. Just, don't go overboard ok?

5. At the moment I only take money orders or Western Union. To get the information on where to send the money talk directly to me using my messenger, or email.

Cell shading: $20 (my fastest method of shading)

Soft Quick Airbrush: $25

Detailed Airbrush: $30

Watercolor: $35

Soft Shading (my specialty): $50

Full Backgrounds: Add $5.00 extra for extremely detailed backgrounds.

Special Projects:

Character Design Sheets: $15 per character

Tone a manga: ( I don't always have time to do this but if you are interested in this service then let me know and I will let you know if I am able)

1-5 pages: $40

5-10 pages: $80

10-20 pages: $112

20-30 pages: $152

Anything above 30 pages, just keep adding 40 to the price. But honestly, I don't think i'm going to do over 50 pages lol XD. But either way we can work something out.
