Many of you know that I do a podcast called Open Mike, Insert Foot.

For those of you who have been curious, but reluctant to try out listening or calling in, tonight would be a good night to visit the live show. I am interviewing a fellow Talkshoe host, Leslie Springanew, who hosts a popular morning show on Talkshoe. She just celebrated her first year of hosting, and we'll talk about that, and hopefully do a Q and A session afterward.

The reason I'm directing you all to this show is that many of you would either benefit from finding out more about Talkshoe, or would make good interview subjects for the show. Believe me, this isn't a sales pitch, I'm not making any money promoting Talkshoe. I would love for you to come to the show, though.

The show starts at 9:25 pm ET, and the chatroom for the show is open 10 minutes prior. If you don't want to call in, join us on the chatroom client and feel free to type in questions or other comments.

How to call in or participate otherwise:

* The best way to participate is to join Talkshoe, get a free account and download the Pro client, which lets you get into the Pro version of the chatroom. This version allows you to see all of the chat from the evening, and is usually more stable than the online client. You can also use the Shoe Phone client, if you have a headset and microphone. Free.
* You don't have to get an account, though. You can pop into the show page, click the top chat client, and pop in that way. Nothing to download.
* Either way, you can call in, either at 724-444-7444 (you'll be billed for a call to Pittsburgh, unless you have free minutes on your cell, natch.)
* Or you can use a VoiP client like Gizmo Project or SJPhone (download for free from SJLabs.com) and dial in 66.212.134.192.
