| Bulletin: | Three things... First - BUY "WORRY DOLL"! The copies arrived from the printers last week, and it's utterly fantastically amazing. I'm finding that once people actually SEE it it sells itself. I took a copy to the pub last week, and sold six copies to people with no interest in comics - and believe me, I'm no salesman. They just wanted it because they had never seen anything like it, and because it's only £9.99 ($17.46), and because even if it's not your thing, it's beautiful, and captivating, and mesmerising. I sold at least 8 or 9 two days later on another night out - and all I did was show it one person, then it got handed around. It went walkabout all by itself, and then the orders came in! All the details are at: www.mamtor.com Take down the ISBN number and order it from your local bookshop. Then buy another for a friend. I promise you won't regret it. Of the first print run there are only 2,000 copies. I think it's going to sell out pretty quick... Next - BUY "TESTAMENT"! This book deserves better. Check out my MySpace gallery for previews. Don't instantly think it's a religious book, as it isn't - it just riffs on what are some seriously great themes, and the modern story is very prescient. It's inteligent, wild, sexy as hell, and fun too, plus it's written by one of the most important media commentators of our age, Douglas Rushkoff - and it's drawn by me :). Picked by Rolling Stone magazine as their hot book for 2006, bigged up in Playboy, and all over the comic news websites, it's still struggling to find an audience. We need sales to save the book - and my job! Buy the trades. Book one and two are out now! http://www.amazon.com/Testament-Akedah-Douglas-Rushkoff/dp/1401210635 Finally - I'm seriously thinking about collecting my written works, which have appeared in "Event Horizon" under the pseudonyms Roger M.Cormack and Ralph Raims, and also in my artbook "Sharpening: the Art of Liam Sharp" (still for sale at www.mamtor.com, though there's only about 20 left...) I'm thinking of going through Lulu. It'll be about 250 pages, and mostly Machivarius Point/Kiazmus related stuff. Who'd buy one? Take care, and thanks in advance! Liam. |
