Light Children is the story of the orphans of Westover Lake. Rejected by their parents because of their unique Light deformities, they have been rescued by their loving caretakers at the orphanage on the outskirts of the realm of the Light People. All of the children find solace, acceptance and true friendship there - except for Eli. Weak and unable to store light energy like an ordinary Light Person, Eli remains a quiet and mysterious presence at the orphanage. He is given extra care to ensure that he survives and the other children consider him a liability. But, after a strange event at a carnival, an unimaginable disaster leads the orphans into darkness, and Eli may be their only hope for deliverance...
